Hey guys....I'm new to the rcnitrotalk forums so I'm ganna ask for forgiveness for asking a some question I'm sure has been asked a thousand times. I'm about to buy a Savage 25 or wait till the Revo comes out and get one of them. My question is...Iv heard that the savage is the toughess truck on the market...is that true? also one of the main reasons I'm thinking of a Revo is because of its speed..How does the top speed of a stock Savage 25 compare?...another question is how does the Savage 25 start...roto,pullstart,e-z start..ect,?

the savage 25 rtr starts w/ a roto start and the savage 25ss kit is a pull start

I havnt herd much about the revo is it like the t-maxx or what?
 
i own a couple of buggys and a couple of monster trucks. the savage is easily one of my toughest r/c's. it is a close tie with my x-terminator 1/8 buggy. the reason why i wont say my xtm is the toughest is becuase it gets ALOT more air than the savage off any givin jump...putting it in a different abuse catagory. i highly recomend the savage. its about as bullet proof as a monster truck can come out of the box. how tough is it? most of its parts are as strong as they can already be, such as the suspension and bulkheads. (high stress areas in monster trucks) the aftermarket only serves those pieces for bling factor and pretty colors IMO.

BTW when i said different abuse catagoy i meant I've broken my xtm more times than my savage..but the abuse it gets is much worse than the savage.

Yea, the Revo is a completely new design. It looks too complicated and finiky to me.

So...I guess I'm probally ganna get the savage 25.....anybody know the top speed of the savage 25?
 
savage isnt the fastest truck on the market. i think with 15/49 gearing itll hit around 35 or so mph, with nice accelration. trust me top speed will be the last thing you worry about once you see how nice and high you can jump the savage and land without a hiccup.
 
This is just me but i think all traxxas engins are to finiky and yet i own one. I own a T-maxx and it sucks an ass can you say piece of poop.anyway
 
cool......What about stock radio gear and servos? They any good?....On my ofna hyper7's thats the first thing i change.........THEY SUCK!!
 
i own a savage myself, and have ran the stock S-25 and an xtm 24.7 in it and 40+ MPH jsut sounds way to fast for a savage with 15/49....but hey who knows I've never had a gun rader my truck. even my buggies with hyper 8-ports and xtm 24.7's dont seem like there going 45+ mph..and they smoke the savage.
 
the savage is a tough,fast,dependable truck the revo is to new to comment on as i always tell guys with a new truck parts avalibility is always a problem no local hobbies will have parts and your going to have to order from the manufacture and thats a 2-4 week wait ...so its good to take all factors into consideration before you make your decision...aloha

Yeah that sucks :thumbdown .........I'm defintley getting the Savage 25...as I've heard nothing but good stuff about it. Everybody around here owns t-maxx's and they think their the best truck you can get. I'm sure Ill turn acouple heads when I step on the scene with the savage :breakdown.

Yeah, definetely show those T-maxx's who is the king of Monster Trucks, the Savage!!! lol Seriously, I've never had a T-Maxx or any other MT besides the savage but everybody says the savage is the most durable, and parts are everywhere. Definetely the way to go.
 
Are their any ''must have'' upgrades(like servos) I'm ganna need to put on it or is stock up to par?
 
i own both a MAXX and Savage (just recently got the savage) but I've already done some harde bashing to it and so far LOVE it IMO its WAY better than the MAXX cause its such a headache after it constantly breaking. The savage is more sluggish and slower than the MAXX but more than makes up for that in other features. The only week points I've encountered with the savage so far are the diffs opposed to the maxx which is almost everything.
 
yup. I blew the front diff i cracked a spider gear in half witch caused the cross pin to shift and ruin the diff case and stripp the other spider. But thats no biggy i just got the parts to do a 4 spider diff mod in the mail from tower today. I just finished doing the 4 spider mod in the front and have it all back together right now I'm going to take the rear end off and do the mod to that one too before i blow that one. But other than the diff from the short time I've had experience with and what I've heard the rest of the savage is great but once you do the 4 spider mod you should be set.
