RC Driving Style
No matter what I do this damn thing wants to go forward.I am still in the learning process and am really getting sick and tired of this thing real fast.Tried adjusting the throttle trim and no matter what I do the truck still wants to pull forward and sometimes the motor revs up.Have checked everything I know of from air leaks to all the linkage so I am asking someone please help.I am in Maryville,TN and if anyone local would be willing to look at the truck for me I will drive wherever I need to because this thing is pissing me off and getting ready to have a new home.Almost forgot this is a 3.3 and dont know what you need to but it has a FOC and a resinator pipe. Thanks in advance for your help.

did you check the idle? you dont set the idle with the throttle trim. make sure the idle screw is closed far enough.

have you checked the clutch? you may have a broken spring which would let the shoes swing out and contact the bell even at low rpm.

have you cleaned the air filter? a clogged air filter will make the engine run lean and rev.

have you reset the needles back to factory? an overly lean lsn will make the truck lean rev as well.

tried replacing the fuel lines? you may have a pin hole in one.

let us know exactly what you have tried so we can better assist.

The fuel lines are new and I clean and oil the filter after every run.As far as the clutch are you talking about the slipper as that is the only clutch I know anything about remember I am new to this so please be patient.Did try adjusting the idle with no improvement what so ever. Also truck is running 280 to 290 degrees but the high speed needle is set better than 5 turns out so I have no clue what to do to fix this thing. The weird thing is the truck runs good just wont stop when you let off the throttle still pulls forward.

The clutch he is referring to is inside the clutch bell on the front of the engine, where the gear is that drives the spur/slipper.

Before you tear into that, remove the air filter(electronics on - not running - trim in neutral position ) and look into the carb and work the throttle. How big is the gap when closed? Should be just over 1mm. Adjust as necessary.
If that's good, check the Low Speed needle setting, it's in the center of the throttle shaft where the linkage attaches to it.Try richening it's setting, counter-clockwise
about an 1/8 of a turn to start. See if that changes anything.

Also truck is running 280 to 290 degrees but the high speed needle is set better than 5 turns out so I have no clue what to do to fix this thing.

That's probably disguising an overly lean LSN. If the LSN is too lean not only will it not idle correctly, it will have high temps.

I will check the low side needle but the truck runs good with good smoke and loads of power just idles crazy.Have checked the idle gap and looks good and again the high side needle is more than 5 turns out and still getting high temps so I will adjust low side needle and see if that helps but still dont understand why it wants to pull all the time because I have to hold the brake to keep it from going sometimes and other times I dont. Its a real shame that I can tune a car for nitrous and can't tune a little motor like this cause this thing is kicking my ass.

I agree, you're definitely too lean on the LSN, that's why you're still running hot with a rich HSN.
When your LSN is right, you'll be able to adjust your idle to where it should be.

the reason it keeps reving is.. the lsn controls fuel supply at idle and low speed (low speed needle) when your running around at faster speeds your getting enough fuel because your hsn (high speed needle) is set overly rich and over compensating. when you come back down to idle your back on the low needle and it starts to lean out. when it leans out the engine will start to lean rev causing it to creep forward.

i would go back to factor settings on both needles, check your idle gap, and go from there.

Ya what they said, good luck!!! I had problems w/ mine like that and it was the lsn being to lean...

Pinch the fuel line at the carb. If it takes about 3-5 seconds to stall, then it's perfect. Any longer and it's too rich. Lean the LSN about 1/16 turn. Any shorter than that and it is too lean. Richen it 1/8 turn.

So the low side needle being to lean could make the truck try to move when not giving it any throttle.

Yes. Because it is unable to get as much fuel into the piston, thus causing more oxygen into it and with thinner fuel, which burns faster, and causes your piston to move up n down quicker, thus making your RPM higher, which causes your clutch to engage, which inturn causes your transmission to begin to turn, thus turns your wheels and makes your car creep forward. So if u richen the low speed needle, more fuel and less oxygen gets into ur engine and forces the burn in your piston to be slower, thus causing the RPM's to drop enough to keep your clutch from engaging.

I say go back to factory settings and re-tune the truck. The 3.3 is a finicky motor anyway, so it will take a bit of adjustment everytime you go out

I think I know ur problem, i had the same. Make sure the engine is off. Take off the air filter, Look into the carb and pull the throttle all the way. Make sure it opens up completely and closes completely (resting on the screw/trim setting which should be 1mm open.) If it remains open until the breakes are applied and than even opens back you have a THROTTLE LINKAGE problem. You'll need to adjust it.
