Torsen Diff. Question

Guys,
I'm new to Nitro RC. I've got a MBX-4 XR Works with a O.S. RZ-V01B and a JR XS3. It is stock otherwise. It needs torsen diffs. I only know of two companies that make them for my car, Ofna and Fioroni. What is the difference in quality? Which is more durable? I don't want to spend any more than I have too. I've already spent more than I had planned on this car.

what makes you think that you need them. You can get good effect from using different weight oils in your diffs. The torsens are a good piece of kit, but only work well in certain situations. My advice would be to try the standard diffs before going to the expence of buying torsens. I had a hyper 7 with torsen diffs in and went to an mbx5 without and i can't really notice that much difference on my local track. I did notice it when i got on the grass or a road surface. So unless you race/bash on these types of surfaces, it may be wise to save your money.

What would be a good example of an application where a Torsen diff wouldn't be prefered.

I was playing on the street and on the grass. I plan to race. Right now I'm just learning how to tune the car and learning to be a better driver.

I followed the directions for the diff. oil weight. Any suggestions?

Just keep the stock diffs, theyre fine until you get into racing regularly. What oils did you use, depending on the weights they change the diff speed.

I believe the directions recommended 5K front, 7k center and 1k rear.

What should the oil weights be?
