Hey guys. Here's the thing I'm torn between which new truck I should get. I have a T-MAXX 3.3 4908 that i bought new last year and i have had a blast with it. However I've done just as much wrenching on it as I have running it. I bought a used Savage X back in June had to replace the 4.1 with a 4.6 put a new spur and upgraded the brakes to the dual disc. I love this truck! It is a way better built truck than my MAXX. So now I'm thinking of getting a new truck when my income taxes come back. I can't decide between a new Savage X or the XL and I'm also looking at the Revo 3.3 I mostly just bash so I need something that's gonna make it through the day and still be in one piece. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
 
If you get the XL, pull the engine and drop a different one in. I love the Savage X, but I think the extended chassis of the XL would be better. You could always get the X, and buy new TVPs.
 
Why not just convert your X to an XL?

HPI sells a conversion kit.
 
Get some Fast Lane Machine extended TVPs and do a mid tank conversion and you will have your self a fine bashing truck! Costs a lot less than buying a new truck.
 
Yeah I could go that route but there's nothin like breakin' a brand new truck outta the box. Beside's I've wroked pretty damn hard this year so I'm gonna give myself a little reward. Will probably end up seling one of my other rigs or both and take the money and put into the new one and have one awesome truck. My parts pile is getting a little big so it's time to liquidate a little bit and start fresh.
 
Throw the money at getting a bad ass engine and upgrade the X to an XL. While your at it pick up a Spek DX3R. Those all come in cool boxes :)
 
Thanks for the input guys i still have a lot of time to decide. Just ran a couple tanks throught the Savy a little bit ago. Man this truck gets more and more impressive each time I run it. I think it's finally getting to its sweet spot!
