For the second week in a row, I have torn one of the uprights where the tie-rod attaches to it in the rear. Now, I will admit, it took some bad landings to do this but still. I see HPI has a set of 2 for $70 but that's rediculous. So, bottom line, has anyone had experience with some bullet proof uprights? As a side not, I am using the complete set of Lunsford turnbuckles and they have yet to pop out although I do reccomend using some lock nuts on all of them as the plastic uprights will cause them to back out some.

Thats $70 for the aluminum ones right?

I to am running the Lunsford turnbuckles and broke one of my rear uprights yesterday after only half a tank. It had cartwheeled a few times when it happened. Ended my day running the Savage. I just took a trip to the LHS and bought 2 extra sets of stockers. I would much rather break the plastic upright then bend the ti rod. Much cheaper to replace. Also, you can still use the broken upright on the other side of the truck.

Yeah, first time it happened, I did not want to leave the park so I just switched it to the other side. OUwl be nice ot have a better product without spending $70. I see GH has them for about $30 but I want to see if anyone else has them and like them. Do they take a beating? Is there a better plastic hop-up?

Here is an inexpensive way to reinforce the uprights.

upright brace

Those look like they would work as long as they dont bend. Anyone have any experience with aluminums? I would like to know how they hold up. I only see this problem being in the rear since the rear turnbuckles dont give.
