Hey guys, I've got a picco .26 max red dot edition in my revo... Need help gearing it. Currently it's a 17/36 (17 tooth clutch bell, 36 tooth spur gear).

For some reason, top speed seems to match my cousin's revo with an OS18TM motor and the stock 15/38 (CB/SG) gearing...

Granted, my truck has gobs of torque (Nothing gets in the way!), but I really expected a considerable boost in top end with this set up.

My next move would probably be a delrin 34 tooth spur gear, and then maybe an 18 tooth clutch bell?

Also, max temp for this motor on my venom failsafe is set to 230 degrees, sound good or can I stretch it a tad farther?

Probably no replies cause you are making the right moves I would crank the temp up to about 250 degrees atleast. Sounds to me like you have some more leaning out to do which will help your speed. Secondly I would change the spur gear first then see how it goes. if still not enough then worry about clutch bell.

I run the red dot in my revo. It screams man, as you know. I suggest the close ratio kit in the trans and like grudge said, try messing with the spur gears first and than the clutch bell. I tried some really tall gears off the bat and was not too happy. It hauled tits but lost too much low end for me.

Also that red dot will take longer to break-in than the stock picco .26 max. At least so far it has for me.

Have Fun!
