On my way to the LHS to get some new Spur Gears. Said they had 4, better get them all. I have a lot of learning about this truck ahead of me. Seems like I get one thing fixed, run it and fix something else. Ran great in the grass after I installed the new slipper clutch, then one quick trip into the plowed field and no teeth left on the spur gear. Must have had the slipper clutch adjusted to tight. You could still turn it by hand. More learning to do.

Pick up some glow plugs too. Those are The two things rookie are likely to break.

once u replace it you generally wont do it again, so once u overhaul the truck ull be fine :P but it wouldnt be a bad idea to spend a weekend watching videos and rebuilding it front ground up and making sure everything from the axle bearings to the clutch bell is shimmed properly so u can then predict in the future your up coming problems if u see them in time.

There on my shopping list also!

Videos sound like a good idea. Are the ones on youtube good to go by?

guy by the name squirrel is generally good and in depth, he has a lot of vids.

Yeah squirrel puts a lot of good info in his vids. I also agree on the ground up rebuild to really get to know your truck. It's a lot better to figure out why you're stripping spur gears instead of just throwing on a steel one and calling it done. A good rule of thumb I use when going to the hobby shop is to just figure at least 1 or 2 glow plugs in your budget everytime you make a trip for fuel or parts or whatever. Before you know it you will have 5 or 6 of them stashed away in your toolbox and have a nice little stockpile of them.

Bought a big plastic tackle box with the removable trays. Now to fill it up! Where do I find the videos from squirrel? Put the spur gear in, adjusted it to have very minimal lash. Will carry the front wheels now while changing gears! Going to stay out of the plowed field for now. I am seriously thinking of doing the tear down if for nothing else just to hear my wife say "You just bought it and now you've tore it apart. That thing will never run again. Are you ever going to finish my attic?"

lol,i know what your talking aboult.I bought a tmaxx for 250.00 cause it was cool now a got over 1000 dollars in it and still putting money in it.its an addiction worse than any drug.I love building them more than bashing them
