Whats up you guys.... I am having a problem with my Traxxas TMaxx 3.3 when my controller is on 70/30 it is idled good but when I switch it to 50/50 the idle gap gets wider like 3cm and the car speeds off....I CAN'T set the idle under 50/50 any suggestions?? Thanks

If you want to use 50/50 you will need to re-center the throttle servo horn and/or adjust the linkage.

Once you've done that you'll want to pull off the air filter and check that you have about a 1mm gap on the throttle (about the gap of a credit card).

Tried eveything and it still is not working....any other suggestions

It will work with 50/50 but it is a little more difficult to setup/adjust than 70/30

It’s all in the linkage adjustments to be able to have complete throttle and brake control.

ok listen with truck OFF

1. take air filter off.
2.power truck on but dont start t so you can steer and use throttle servo but dont start truck
3. switch to 50/50 then lossen the idle neede on carb then the trottle should slde back to regular location if not give it a little boot push where lsn is then tighten up idle screw again...
4. put air filter BACK ON THEN GO DRIVING

HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT WITH A REVO I DID THIS AND IT WORKED...I Have a tmaxx now but thats another story...

Adjusting the idle screw has nothing to do with the adjustment of the linkages when changing from 70/30 to 50/50…or vice versa.

Once the idle gap is set with the idle screw, it is set. The linkages need to be adjusted to compensate and return the slide valve to the idle gap.

With the selector in 50/50 position - Remove throttle horn from servo, turn all electronics on and adjust the throttle trim to 0 on the radio, then re-attached the throttle horn while electronics are on, the linkage rod from the throttle horn to the bell crank post will be the main adjustment but the rod from the bellcrank post to the throttle arm on the carb and even the angle of the carb sometimes may or may not need to be adjusted to set up the linkages for 50/50.
Its best to loosen all linkage collars (throttle and brake), re-center the servo/horn and then adjust the linkages from scratch. Adjust the throttle linkages 1st to get full throttle when full trigger is applied and a return of the carb slide vale to the idle gap when no trigger input is applied. Then you can adjust the brake linkage.

That's some sticky quality stuff snook. You are a boon to this community. Great job!
