i just got my tmaxx this christmas and i tried to start it today and it wont at all for some reason i can't get it fire up is there anyhting i should do special to get it to start

First make sure your EZ start battery is fully charged. Make sure the fuel cap is tightly closed. Check all the fuel and pressure lines to make sure they are secure. Remove the glow plug, reattach the wire and hold it against the side of the head while pressing the EZ start button. Does it light up? If it does, screw it back in and try again. Is fuel getting to the carb?
If it's cold there, warm it up inside, then take it out and try starting it again.
The factory settings on a 2.5 usually make it fire up quickly when it's new. Don't make any changes to the carb settings till it's broken in.
If you still have a problem getting it to fire, take it to the LHS to have it checked.

ok thanks but how do u see if the glow plug is lighting up... u said to hold it up against the head... why can't it light up w/out touching the head

because thew way that the ezstart is rigged up to the maxx it is so that when you use the ezstart the glow plug also glows and one of the wires is connected to the head which carries the power to glow the plug.

The blue wire on the tip is the + or positive, and on the motor mount is a yellow wire that is - or negative. By holding it against the head, the glow plug is grounded to the negative. If it's not grounded, it won't light up.

thanx and we finally got it started and we are jsut about finished wiht the 4th tank

Congrats on your new truck. Just finished the 4th tank at 1 AM? You must either have no neighbors, or very cool ones.

Hopfully they were drinking beer, and watching the T-Maxx go around with him. LOL!!!!

Good luck with your Maxx.
