Hey, I've heard really good things about the venom-racing temp probe. It records the min and max temps during a running session while also displaying the current temp. If you place it in the right place you should be fine. If you like the convenience of an on-board temp guage what you should do is bring it into the hobby shop and get the guy there to use his gun to take a temp and compare it to ur reading. Thats what I did and my venom is reading just fine. I'm going to take a video of mine running and stuff later. I will make a topic for ppl to post all their videos of it running. That way people can see how everyones t-maxx performs. :)

So just a touch leaner and it will be ok? Yeah I really do like the on board probe kind except that you have to take off the body to see. I might just get a gun.

Well you never cn get too many guns... I actually meant a temp gun. But yeah too many guns is NOT a bad thing.

Well you point it down the glow plug hole and it usually has a little red dot. And where the dot is, it measures the temp of that spot. you can be like 5 feet away.

You just point it to the metal where the glow plug is threaded by. Everyone who uses a probe should compare temps with a gun so you know your getting a correct reading for sure.

Well it measures just beside the glow plug. Also thats what they are supposed to do, measure temp from a distance.

If you measure it from a distance, you WILL NOT get an accurate reading. The temp gun measures in a cone; the closer you get, the more accurate reading. If you are further away you'll get basically an average reading of the area around the engine, where the engine is a tiny spot compared to the area around it.

I know. I was simply pointing out that it will pick up different tempuratures from a distance.
