Now that you mention it... I tried to jump the approach that leads into my yard without a body. Needless to say when it lands flat on its top it means bad. I busted a I think they are shock towers, the things that hold up the body. anyway, I used 1/4 inch bolts for now but will get new ones. I also hit our water shut off valve and it started to cartwheel. it looked pretty cool and it cartwheeled for like 10 yards. it landed on its wheels and kept going.

Mine still doesn't run like this. Nor does it put out that much blue smoke. Whats up?

Does anybody know why mine wouldn't put out that much smoke and yet not perform that well?

IC. Well I just busted a spur and found that the tranny has no more screws attaching it to the chassis, do I need a new tranny?
 
I've never really busted a gear yet, but how do you exactly bust a spur gear? By hitting it with something or under harsh driving?

Another thing that can affect the amount of blue smoke it blows out is the type of fuel its running on. I use "Morgan: Sidewinder Racing" nitro. It is 20%nitro/10%oil and its pink. Quite a bit of smoke comes out when I accelerate and my engine runs at 219-230degrees and it hit a max of 244 when the fuel was real low.


I'd still bring ur t-maxx into the hobby shop and get the guy to check it out if you feel that its not running like you would expect

Well what happens is my tranny bounces out of place every time I hit a bump. And then the gears aren't meshed properly. Then the teeth get chewed off and it is worthless.
 
You mean your entire tranny setup bounces out of place with the spur gear when you jump?! can't you screw it back in? Thats pretty bad for anything connected to the tranny if its bouncing!

What type of fuel do you run and how are your temps right now?
 
Well the temps are only about 180 but it still seems to act like its too lean. I don't know whats going on. And yeah I will screw it back on but in the mean time whats up with the engine?

IS there anyway you could take a quick picture of your engine with the temp probe shown (the place where its seated) and also the tranny.

(A video clip of it running would probably help the more experienced members help u get it tuned right also)
 
Well yeah but my camera takes pics too big. I don't know how to resize them. I also have a youtube accound but I haven't tried to put a vid on.

Kinda hard to see but it does look shifted, see what you can do about shifting it back and tightening it. You must have been hardcore bashing!

Mind taking a pic of your on-board temp guage probe? The part where it loops around the engine at the sensor. I can tell you if its in a bad place and giving you a false reading, and it will also help me see if mines in the right place :hehe:

I will take a pic and show it. Also it isn't really shifted but I can move it about 1/8 of an inch with my thumb. I will screw it down. What I did to bust it was I tried to jump an aproach and landed face first into the side of my shed. or at least thats what I thought did it.
 
Ok well this is where I have the probe pic. I think its about the right place. Also I can't find my digital camera so this is the best a cell phone can do.

you need to put the temp sensor probe all the way at the base of the cooling head, just above the engine block. Thats why your readings are only 180. You would be better off getting a temp gun and taking temp at the glow plug.
 
Ok well I moved the probe down but it doesn't seem to fit right. I will get pics later. I have a video on youtube and will try to post it.

P.S -Its rather quiet cuz I shot it with my cell phone.
