My friend and I took our Tmaxx's out today and I spent all of 2 hours trying to tune the TRX2.5 while he was going through tank after tank without any problems. My engine kept hesitating at top end...sort of like it was getting radio interferance. We were running in an open parking lot so I dont think it was the radio. I'm using a JR XS3 -RS300.

Couple things came to me when I came home and was wondering if this could be the problem.
1. Bad glow plug? No problems starting the engine.
2. Too much oil on the filter? I cleaned the filter before I went out and might have put too much oil on it. This is my first nitro...I'm a noob!

What adjustments do I need to do with the HSN/LSN to fix the hesitation at WOT? Engine only has 1/2 gallon run through it according to the original owner but who knows? I'm almost tempted to trash it and purchase an OS 18TM for it.

I really appreciate the help and thanks to everyone who has given me very valuable information over the last few weeks.

The stalling/sputting at WOT suggest it's running lean but don't quote me on it. I'm not sure how to explain the LSN settings but try setting the HSN to 4 turns. This should get you running and able to tune it from there.

i say get the OS 18 TM if you can't get it running right. Thats what i run in mine and its an awesome motor. (hard on plastic shafts though)

If you have the tuning DVD I would watch it, as an racer I tune my own way but the DVD is very informative for a new comer, also I don't know where you live but it is hard to tune in cold conditions besides very hard on the motor(i my opinion) I wore two 2.5's out running in the snow and cold.

Squeeze the fuel line. It needs to run for 2 seconds before dying. If it dosen't run for two seconds fatten it up. and lean it out if if goes longer than two seconds. This was one of the problems on my truck yesterday. Once I set the LSN by the pinch test. The top end was easy. I hope this helps.
