A friend has a tmaxx 3.3 no matter what you do to the carb it makes no difference in the running of the engine it just keeps bogging down is it time for a engine or maybe the carb the slide of the carb has a lot of play in it any thoughts:angry:

Tell him to take the Glow plug out and rotate the engine. When the piston gets to the top of the stroke, he should feel some resistance or tightness. If there is none, he needs either a pinch on the piston sleeve or a new piston and sleeve. (ebay for about $45.) Bad fuel? Methanol is a sponge for attracting water. Air leak? (main bearing, carb, ?) Probably nothing wrong with the carb. Probably the pinch on the cylinder. Once these motors over heat you loose your compression and it will not run.

Found sleeve piston and rod kits for the 3.3 on eBay for 64.99 and 4.75 shipping. Buht if rod is fine just get the sleeve and piston kit for 45.99 plus shipping. A new carb is only like 19.00 as well. With the engine head off and piston and sleeve removed check for play in your crank bearings. While your building it some good ceramic bearings would not hurt also. Good luck I've gotta rebuild my 3.3 as well.

Or you can send it back to traxxas with 100 bucks and they will send you a NEW eng.

It's gone up to $120 plus $5 shipping with trade now for the 3.3. But you can get a new 3.3 off eBay for $110 delivered.

$110 Plus $5 for a new 2.5R with trade at traxxas. Or $104.99 delivered off eBay. And with eBay you keep your old engine and do with it what you wish.
