Hey Guys,

I am having a problem getting my TMaxx to start, and when I get it to finally start by holding the trigger on the controler open a bit it will run for a bit and then right in the middle of a run it just cuts out. Usually when I release the throttle. Also when I nail the gas, it is sluggish and doesn't want to shift to second gear. Any suggestions? Thanks

Tom

AFTER you can get it up to running temp try leaning out the HSN a lil....you may have to let it sit on a stand and rev it easy til it gets to about 140/150 then you can rev it hard to bring temps up and clear it out.....I try not to run mine on the ground until head temp is around 180....I rev it a little harder when the temps get over 125.....this clears any old crap you had in there that is now thick from cooling down....although the ARO should help break everything down I still feel like stuff is in the engine from the last day's run sometimes....

You know Plaid... I feel like it is the same thing... some left over gunk in the mill. It has run well in the past, however recently I have just been fighting it for all it is worth. I thought it may be the idle not set correctly, since I have to blip the throttle to get it started, and it cuts out on decel. I don't know. With the ACNCM head I am not getting temps over 225. I am afraid to lean it out to much, for fear of killing it. That big piece of alumnium is really good at keeping her cool under pressure.

Hey Spy, temps never over 225 but since I have been fighting it my temps are a bit over 200 but not much. It doesn't seem to run long enough to actually get up to temp.

w/ that head try temping the exhaust port on the crankcase instead of the head.....I've helped a few guys w/ those and got a tip from my LHS mechanic to temp it like that....you can see a 50*F difference from case to head cause that thing cools so fast.....

Hey Plaid,

Thanks for the info my friend. I will give that a shot. That head has made tuning alot easier but it almost works too well.... know what mean? Thanks again.

Tom

those 2.5 mills run like a scalded ass dog when they get around 260-280 but your wearing them out real quick......I just dogged mine like that and got almost 3 gallons from one before it just disintegrated....and it went quick...warped the sleeve so bad it wouldn't ppinch right and the conrod was just ovaled out around the journal so bad it could slip off at TDC......

Yeah, I want to put an OS .18 on it, I just figure I will blow this one up first. No sense in buying a new mill until I have too. A guy at the track I run put one of those OS Drop ins for his REVO and man that thing runs like a bat out of hell.

If you over heated it (common w/ that mill) it's done.....I've seen guys run them to 400F and wonder why the "stupid engine" doesn't work......it's a finicky mill.....what's wrong w/ yours? and have you searched the forum for help??
