Ok heres the deal ..i got the tmaxx sitting on the bench put it there yesterday round 5pm didnt do much to it needed soem screws come home today after doing some running round and notice the front is sagging ..

about 1/4 to 1/2 inch pick it up and its fine then starts to sag again over a few hours? so what is it weak springs shocks leaking down internally i doubt that but ..

I could be wrong but sounds like something internally, have you checked to make sure they are full of oil?

yes i just rebuilt the shock rears are fine its only the front thats sagging dont think i added that b4 rear is fine

and yes i rebuilt all 8 i would have noticed except it was sitting on table and could see it sagging

OK. First, what springs are you using? I guess I would think that would be the culprit. It seems odd that it happens slowly. Did you recently adjust the amout of preload you're putting on the shocks? Less preload=more sag. And what weight shock fluid are you using?

50 wt and no its been the same for the last month no changes in preload and there brand new springs as of last month there the blues

This question made me curious,
The problem isn't with your front shocks sagging its with your rear shocks not.....

The down travel is just as important as your up travel. When your truck is driving down the road the suspension must travel down as well as up to compensate for the road conditions.

If you have 0 sag or in racing we call it "squat" your handling would suffer immensely.

Try looking to see why your rear isn't sagging.
The reason it takes a while to sag after picking it up is due to the oil weight you are using.

So, How you like those apples?

hum i hadnt thought off it like that .. probley rear spring preload is to high using thickest spacer to keep it from squating to much under power time to look into tuning the cb also go to higher # i suppose what ya think lower spring preload or go stiffer weight oil ?

it squats pretty good under power .. even using the 20 tooth bell running the os 15 cvx

Nothing wrong with squatting under high acceleration its called traction. Just don't want to be doing wheelies. Try to take a spacer out and see how it handles. Oil weight isn't our issue at this point it only keeps your truck from bouncing faster or slower.

this was bad squat .. almost bottoming out under accel i wouldnt call it a wheelie per say but will lift front just enough to keep front whens real light almost no steering under power

I would think that using 50 wt oil with blue springs (Trinity springs?) would be a pretty good match. It seems like a lot of sag. I would be leaning on getting some preload on the front. I run double thick spacers on my rear 4 and one medium spacer on the front 4. I'm using 40 wt oil and a combination of springs. I have 2 Trinity blue and 2 original red on each end of the truck. I don't see anything close to that much sag with my setup.

i run the single thick on rear and single medium on front time to take shocks apart again i guess

or what else do you reccomend kind of weird i just though the sag under power was that much more power from the os

Good Idea. Check if those shocks are full of oil. There might also be huge air bubbles running around inside yo shocks.

I have run the same setup Candy and have had great success.
Try re-bleeding. and call us in the morning.:jester:

If the front is sagging over time, what you have is the weight of the T-Maxx settling the shock.

You might have air in the shocks; you might have leaked out some oil; but unless you have overcompressed the springs (new or old alike) I doubt the springs have very much to do with it.

At 50wt oil with standard plungers, there will be some lag time for the spring to compress and extend.

I would suggest that you rebleed the shocks to ensure no air. Then build your shocks as you normally would. If you still get more sag than you like add a couple more pre-load spacers. That will push the height back up.

As for the squat in the rear, if you want to see wheelies...make the rear suspension mushy and stiffen the front up. If you want to keep the power to the wheels, stiffen the back and set the front as you like. That will keep the wheels firmly planted. Either way, suspension tuning is dependent on your running environment.

Your shocks could just bee too lose.. Put those c clip things to tighten them up a lil... did you try that??? It also could have little to no oil... they leak if the orings get messed so they could have leaked all out... Just a idea...

Ok tore it apart to replace some a arms and foc kit went to the widemaxx .. 2 shock bodys cracked not on the ends in the middle of the shock body almost like the froze which it stays in house so i know that isnt right ..

so 2 shocks on rear and havent check front yet but ill post back guess i cleaned it to well not to see the oil :doc:
