I am thinking of buying a Tmaxx in a few weeks and how long will it run on a tank of fuel ?

After I get it I may be back with more questions.

offroader is rite it should last about 10 to 15 min it depends on if it is running rich or lean.
 
Yeah, if it is tuned really good, you may get about 15 mins, but if you are bashing around and you are doing high speed runs and set a little rich, you may get around 10 mins. It just depends. The T-maxx is a good truck, it does have some weak points, but it is an overall good performer. The #1 upgrade is a cooling head and then a fail safe. Then, probably aluminum bulkheads and rpm A-arms and knuckles. If you arent careful, and if you have money in your pocket, you will have one hopped up t-maxx in no time (i know, it happened to me!)

Wow I thought it would last longer. Is it still better than the Emaxx ? :shrug:

7-10 minutes running on a track, i know because i've run mine on the track. 235* max always.
 
If you are looking for a rock crawling truck, then the electric ones are for you because they dont have a clutch to engage and they motors have more torque. If you want to bash or race or jump nitro is the way to go. I would personally suggest the Revo over the T-maxx. I drove one the other day and WOW. They handle so much better and they are quick. They are also a lot more durable.
 
yeah if you're buying new get the revo.....way more fun and easier to handle than the maxx......they are like a truggy right out of the box......if you want to race defienately get the revo......they rule tight tracks
 
Before everyone here tells you what to get, What is your BUDGET? WHat do you have already if you do and what would you need to get going?

Was looking to stay under 400, this will be a play truck for general off road use and of course jumps. Since the Tmaxx came out It looked like an awsome truck and always wanted one.

I don't have a nito or any RC now, I was into RC nitro boats and cars over 15 years ago when I lived in CA.I loved my tunnelhaul boat it was a blast ! I had a nitro 4wheel drive and steering rail, but the clutching sucked back then and sure it it a lot better now.

Then, the T-maxx should do ya. I believe Tower is having a sale going on. $30 off any order over $150. That will bring the price down. I ordered mine from there, it was here quick. But, down in AZ you will need a new cooling head.

the revo is about 100 bucks more but it seems much easier to maintain....
both are awsome trucks and have a buttload of hop-ups available.....
don't say you won't want to do any...cause you will, this stuff is more addictive than crack.....LOL :jk: crack is a very bad thing and should not be made light of.....
 
I got a used but in excellent condition 2.5 in the FS forum, If you wanted to save a load of cash and still have a truck that performs newly. Just a hint really.

To partially answer your question, because I have No Idea how long an E-Maxx will run....the difference is...when the E-maxx runs out of juice, you're done, until you recharge the batts. When the T-Maxx runs out of juice...you refuel and are running again in about a minute!! How cool is that?

Ya I was thinking the same thing or a biiger fuel tank :) I have been looking at the towerhobbies ads also, looks like $347.98 shipped with a 20.00 gift cert also..........

You gotta buy a t-maxx, I own the S-maxx it's the track version of the t-maxx. But they are great trucks, they can take ALOTTTTT of abuse, and the TRX .25 is a great engine, very reliable. You get about 10 to 15 min of run time on a tank, but it all depends on how your car is tuned.

I still say check the revo out man....it's much better for the basher....the suspension is way more versatile.....I have had 6 t-maxxes in the last 8 months and I still like the revo better......I usually drive my friends revo when we go to the field to bash......and I have a pretty hopped up Maxx....his revo is basically stock.....
but you can get cheap parts for the maxx now if money is a bigger factor....
 
Havig both a T-maxx and a savage I wouls definetaly say

#1 stay away from the t-maxx good rig, but outdated and a lot of maintainence.
#2 Don;t worry about fuel capacity it only takes a second to fill it
#3 Check and seriously re-check into a revo or savage.

Pretend you bought a savage, and want to learn more about it.. do some research on searcinhg on the forums, do the same for the revo.

No offense, I own a t-maxx, they are frusterating a lot of work, and a money pit.


Do two searches on this forum, one for "t-maxx problem", and one for "savage problem" to see what issue constantly show up for each. Look at the problems nad see which you are more comfortable fixing, and which problems seem to cost the most, if cash is an issue.

Gluck But PLEASE reasearch this forum before you buy, it wil save you a lot of heartache, it did me on the second time around lol
