So i put my new bulk heads in. waiting on my new a arms but other than that i am trying to drive the wheels off of it. but now for the question... now when i try to start it it BLOWS fuel out of the exhaust. 1.) I just had it tuned by a pro (was running amazing. very quick and responsive) 2.) did the deflood proceduer (sp?) (remove the fuel line, remove the glow plug, turn the engine is to the top of the chamber, turn the car over and leave it for a min, crank the engine, let sit for a little bit.) 3.) changed the glow plug and wire. it has always misted fule when trying to start but now it is DUIMPING fuel. any sugestions on what to try now.

I'm not 100% certain, but mine did the same thing, and all I had to do once the truck was idling smoothly was to turn the tuning 'screw' a bit to make it run more lean (more air, less fuel going into the motor). The directions that came with your truck explain how to do this. Otherwise, no idea. Good luck!

yeah there is definately a tuning problem. ur running waaaaay too rich.

The problem is it wont even start. i took it to a hobby shop that had a guy who was a "pro" at tuning traxxis trucks and still nothing.

first thing you should do is seal the engine and carb. then set all the needles back to the factory settings, maybe a bit leaner. i dont know what the factory settings are but you should be able to find that information in your manual if you have one, if not you can always download one from the traxxas website. now to learn how to seal the engine check this page out https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60832 it will also give you more insight on how to properly tune a nitro engine

well i upgraded to the 3.3 and imagine that it runs... well. so the problem I found out with the 2.5 was the starter was toast. it would not turn the engine fast enough to ignite the fuel. my buddy is running it on his car, no tuning and it runs great. I have a pull start on the 3.3 and no issues. i did the traxxis break-in procedure. runs perfect. pulled the car appart and did the rev delete. easy install but the instructions SUCKED. new bulk heads and shocks. i will have it back up and going tonight. I am excited to see how it runs and performs. I did the break in and broke one of the front bulk heads so i did the tranny at the same time so i have not even gunned it hard yet. I can already tell a differance in power just during the break in.

Just for future ref. is traxxs procedure the way to go?:
each step is a complete tank

tank 1.) (with the body off) 1/4 throttle for 2 seconds then brake (15 min cool down)
tank 2.) (with the body on) 1/2 throttle for 2 seconds then brake (15 min cool down)
tank 3.) (with the body on) 1/2 thorttle for 3 seconds then brake (refule continue)
tank 4.) (with the body on) increase throttle over 3 seconds to full throttle brake (refule continue)
tank 5.) (with the body on) increase throttle over 3 seconds hold for 2 seconds brake (finished)

- tank 3 adjust the throttle
- tank 4 start tune
- tank 5 final tune.

I will be getting a heat gun tonight and doing the heat tune. I am told that is the best way to tune.

sometimes it works but mostly you can see the difference and go by sound and smoke cause mine will run between 180 and 225. I have the same thing as you and the tmaxx 3.3 (the new one) and the big one i think i have at 50 top and by far that little one is insane. I have mine dropped right down. with alittle smaller tires and racing shocks. You will be impressed with what you have just built and starting with new gears in tranny is deffinetly the way to go.. saves a break right off!!!

Good luck and have fun!!!!
