Hey y'all, I've got a tmaxx with a 2.5, all stock an has run great up untill today, had some great weather and went to get the truck out and the motor started up like nothin, when I went to give it has the spur gear would turn but it say there, I'm new to nitro, I'm assuming the tranny is shot but I'm not sure, wondering of I am right, and if I am, should I pick up a whole new tranny or buy a rebuild kit?

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Zach

check your slipper clutch it may be too loose. it should be tightened all the way down snug then backed off 1/4 turn.

If your spurgear is still turning when you gas it than your slipper shouldnt be the problem IMO. You may wanna look inside the tranny. I have a 2.5 without reverse as they have a tendancy to break pins in the tranny if you try to shift from forward to reverse without coming to a full stop. IMO the FOC kit is a solid investment. Bought my Maxx without reverse but have the kit in my MGT and it shaved over 1.5 pounds from removing all the gearing and servo weight. Less weight = MORE SPEED!!!!

^^ thank you, looks like I'll have to break into it tonight and do some snooping around once I get done with homework and softball games tonight lol

Still having the issues broke the tranny down and from what I could tell everything was intact, any other ideas?

Check all of your axles at there mounting points and also inside your diffs,if your tranny is fine and your slipper IS fine it can only mean that its in the driveline, one other thing, how fast is your spur gear turning if your engine clutch is bad it can still spin your spur but not fast enough to engage your tranny.

I will check all of that, hopefully that's it, the spur is brand new and flys whenever it's engaged, I'm just about sick of this thing it's been a pain since I've acquired it,
