I'm looking to get a new motor for my tmaxx 3.3 4909. i have been looking at picco .26 JL red dot. I'm just worndering if anyone on here has used this motor and what they think of it. also if you have used it what pipe did you use and how did it perform with it.

I have the JL Red Dot in my revo and its awesome. I moved my picco .26 maxx to my t-maxx and it just goes wild. Dont forget the wheelie bar. LOL 45mph wheel stands.

Revo has a vantage pipe with I really like. The Dynamite Pipes at a-main are good. T-maxx just has the resonator but I think something different would be a little better. I want to try the THS pipes which I hear are great. Not sure if they make one for a maxx though. RD Logics pipes are very loud and I'm not sure how they are on performance.

I'm going to be ordering one of the red dot engines for my T-Maxx project very soon. It's been sitting on a shelf waiting on some parts, which I recently bought from Lessen. I've gotten out of nitro and moved on to better things, but this T-Maxx has a lot of sentimental value so I kept it, and I will be doing the full show truck/shelf queen treatment, but I will run it once or twice a year, and I've decided that the red dot has everything that I'm looking for in an engine.

If I was going to be running it a lot, I would run the OS .21TM. This is a really nice motor, and I still regret selling the brand new OS .18TM that I had. THe .21TM has stupid power and the OS is some of the best running engines out there IMO, and the best at holding a tune, and maintaining a smooth power band. I'm not comparing the OS .21TM with $1200 racing engines, but when you compare OS to the same class of engine in other brands, I would take the OS any day because of the quality. Since I'm looking for stupid power and was considering doing a big block coversion with a high end .28, I've decided on the .26 red dot, although it's way more power than a T-Maxx can handle, even on a well prepared track. I'm really wanting to find a truggy conversion kit similar to the old mutant maxx kits to help with the suspension side of handling that much power.
