hi guys. I'm new to the t maxx world as igot mine at the end of the year last year and i won't run it in snow. what little bit i did get to run it i found that it is hard to steer without flipping, i would like to know if there are any tips on how to lower it. it is the newest 3.3 with the 2.4ghz radio. i would like it to be fairly cheap and not too low to bottom out

Tmaxxs (or monster trucks for that matter) in general are top heavy and will need some finesse to drive w/o flipping. I've upgraded to 40 series tires/wheels (their nearly an inch wider and have a 1/2 " offset) and also traxxas progressive rate springs. I also rebuilt my shocks with 50 wt. oil. These things help, but sometimes if I'm not careful I still flip it. Sucks! Overall I've kept my ride height, allowed some roll through the springs for the chassis weight to shift, and widened the stance with offset wheels and more rubber on the ground. :D

i heard on rc car driver magazine that you can lower it with fuel tubing. i think they are saying to but it on the shaft and let some oil out but i don't want to risk it. I've also seen on ebay things called wheel extensions but i haven't heard anything about them and i am not one to waste my money. i would like to hear somthing about them to ease my mind about getting them or not

you should be able to get it fairly low by using the different mounting positions on the lower control arm and shock tower.

if you still want it lower you can take apart the shocks and slip small sections of fuel tubing over the shock shaft then reassembling the shocks with the fuel tubing inside the shock body. be careful with big jumps because you will lose suspension travel if you do this.

my suggestion is that you use the lowest settings on the control arm and shock tower, try 50-60 weight shock oil, and either traxxas progressive springs or rc raven dual rates. it will handle much better

thank you, i will go get 50wt and springs tomorrow, it helped a lot with the different positions

To answer your original question, I have adjustable shock towers and that makes my TMaxx ride quite a bit lower.
