i jux got finished driving my tmaxx and when i give it gas it wants to sputter and bog down and then gets up to speed and it constantly does this everytime i give it gas, i have not messed with the needles since my dad had owned it and when he had it it didnt do this. Its like ever since i put the new clutch on it wants to do this and it has a xtm 24.7.thanx.

Sound like it needs to be leaned out, The slightest change in the weather can mess with these engines fuel mixture. I have to adjust the Hsn almost everytime I run my Maxx. But here in Colorado the weather changes drasticly from day to day

i forgot to mention that after i run it for about 1/4 of a tank it cuts off on me.

I agree with Jesse G.
It is to rich so lean it out. You will have to adjust your maxx every time the weather changes.

i just had the same problem the other day. it was wierd cause mine never did that before. i leaned it out and it didnt fix it, just ran hotter. might just be one of those days.

i started to lean mine out and it seemed that it didnt change at all.

You guys are running the stock fuel tanks... When its full, since the level of the fuel is over the level of the carb, it runs into the carb a lot easier, making it richer. When that level becomes lower than the carb, it leans out a little. This is why i hated the stock tank. If you can tune it to run all the way through the tank, the first 1/4 is really rich, and then the last 3/4 is fine... I dont really know how to change this, without changing the fuel tank...

i never thought of that before, but wouldnt it be ok since you have pressure in the tank all the time from the exhaust?

i haved another question about the xtm 24.7 slide carb, when i pull the gas lever the cylinder inside of the carb pulls back and theres a little pin from the cylinder towards the high speed needle and was wondering what that little pin is for, the pin doesn't touch the otherside until i let go of the gas. hope this makes since.thanx.

well i found out why it was sputtering and what not, it was because it was too lean and i had to richen it up. thanx u guyz.

That's perfectly normal, the xtm 24.7 and the s-25 carb are almost exact. Mine does the same.

Savy runs great though.

I'm pretty sure you are talking about the low speed needle... If you look at a diagram, you would see what I'm talking about... :smoke:
