just wonderin what the difference is between the old school tmaxx and the new stlye?

thanks jordie

Longer a-arms and a 2.5 engine. Along with a improved EZ-Start system. I think that was the majority of the upgrades

What Humbolt said plus the .15 maxx is a little higher and doesn't have the x cross brace on the shocktowers, the older maxx is sidexhuast with rotarty carb and the 2.5 is rear exhaust with slide carb. So the old chassis doesn't have the three holes for the slide carb throttle horn. Everything else is identical from what I've seen.

the 2.5 engine is ported different from the .15 pro motors, plus the cooling head. Thats the only difference with the motors.

yeah, i forgot that, My bad..Thanks for the pickup

Funny... I just asked Traxxas the same thing. In an email they sent to me today, they said:

Engine (2.5 in the new vs. Pro 15 in the old)
New EZ start system on the new Maxx
Wider suspension on the new Maxx
Heavier drive shafts on the new Maxx

I know some of this had already been stated, but thought I'd pass it along for grins...

The stock .15 pros didnt come with a Ez start or what? If they did, then whats the difference between the ez starts?

Heavier? hummm. THey seem indentical to me but I guess they could be heavier. They still aren't strong enough to run a 16tooth CB with the 2.5 without tweaking the hell out of them.

Peace

i think he means beefier. the 2.5 drive shafts are beefier then the .15. atleast the yoke part is.

The EZ-Start is a little heavier duty than the original. Also the new EZ-Start was modded for clearance around the rear exhaust port. The bolt pattern is slightly larger on the backplate as well.

In my openion, trash the EZ-Start and go with a pull start or roto start instead.

Jordie I asked about trading the .15 pro's in for the 2.5 motor + $100 and they said thats true and they'll do it. Also $5 for shipping. I'm not sure if its really worth it, but I have the email and will forward it to ya if ya want. Lemme know.

Oh yeah....

The 2.5 also has the new desinged Traxxass IPS crank- shaft (very high quality crank compared to many others I've seen). I think that's everything.

$30.00 for Top Fuel in the USA...damn that's pricey. I pay like $22.00 on average and $24.00 tops. I pay like $25.00 for O'Donnell.

Cozea - Ouch dude...what country are you in. Those prices would ALMOST make me not wanna run nitro's.

well the hobby shop is the only one around for like 1 hour 30min. so supply and demand. ur lucky man, i have tried to tell the guy about the prices but he is always sayin he has to include the cost of the hazmat fee into the gallon of fuels and stuff. go figure. I havent gone there in so long, but i just remembered the last time i went there he got rid of the Monster Horse Power, just when i started getting hooked on it. So now i have to go back to Top Fuel once my supply of Monster Horse Power runs out.
