Does anyone know a part number for a FOC for a #4909 maxx trans. Or what FOC fits it. I have a new one I have never used and want to put it in the old maxx that I beat on a lot.

Okay guys I got my FOC kit for my #4909 trans today. Pulled the trans apart followed directions step by step. Everything went nice no problems. My question is. Why do they give you the pin with the threaded end on it, the pin looks like the screw that holds the drive cup in but smaller. I used the supplied pin to attach the forward primary gear. But the instructions said to used the supplied pin and the c ring clip. Makes no sense. The instruction also said to use the same clip to attach the other, gear also. Just asking the trans works fine the way I set it up.

Some of the older FOC kits used the c clip and pin for the forward primary, like the stock setup with reverse. Newer kits I have seen are supplied with 2 screw pins. Either will work.

personally i think the only reason any company puts reverse in a nitro rc is for the bling factor

Or for the noobs. When I first got into nitro, I know I was thinking "WTF, no reverse on this truck?" Now FOC is one of the first things I do, followed by putting a pull start on.

Yah I know it has a FOC transmission in it now, I was just swapping it out to the #4909 transmission, due to it having the older #4910 transmission in it now.

For me my first truck was a 4910 with reverse that was functional it worked good and all but when i saw that bucking it did i had to do something about that common sense will tell you that isnt to good for the driveline. at least with me it did so but i grew up around mechanics and what knot all that jerk in the driveline isnt a good thing imo so i got rid of it after running maybe 5 tanks thru the truck.

Yah pretty much all my rig are FOC. I just traded for a brand new MGT 4.60. My buddy bought it and had really bad luck with it. He came to me and wanted to trade me for my old #4910 maxx truck. He just dropped $600 on the mgt last week it crapped the trans before he got it broke in. Needless to say I have been ordering MGT parts so far up to $50.00 including the FOC to fix it.
