My maxx is about a year old, and through these forums, I have learned a great deal about how to diagnose and fix problems as they arise until now. My maxx it's doing a few strange things that I can't figure out and I'm in need of help. Recently my maxx wants to shut off when I apply the brakes, doesn't want to idle, and ifs making a horrible sound when I roll it in reverse. I have looked for problems that should be evident and easily recognizable to no avail. Any ideas on what my problems may be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

the idle problem can easily be fixed by turning your idle screw in about 1/4 of a turn or more as needed.this will also solve the engine dieing when brake is applied problem as well

When you roll it in reverse can you pin point were the noise is coming from?
(trans) (spur and clutch bell) (diffs) (drive shafts) ECT

Check your main clutch at engine under the clutchbell. If the spring is broken or a pad that will cause your truck to stall when you break and not idle as well. Same if your clutchbell bearings are frozen or destroyed. Your idle gap should never have to be adjusted from the 1mm gap and always use your LSN to adjust the idle aftet the HSN is set.

It sounds like it's coming from the diffs, haven't had a chance to check the clutch springs yet. The spur gear looks flawless. The clutch pads are all there also. I will check it over much closer next weekend and try and pinpoint the problem. Thanks for the replies now I have a solid direction to look.

you can also unhook ur driveshtafts a spin them all freely to determine which end or part its comin from.
