well i just bought myself a new tmaxx 3.3 and its pretty cold out and we just got snow today of course lol... i know your not supposed to break it in in the cold but i was wondering what you guys think tomorrow is supposed to be like 35 degrees do you think that is too cold and i should wait or what?

I broke in my S Maxx when it was 35 out and it seemed fine. I just made sure the head got hot enough to seat the piston in the bore. Even at 35 degrees outside my head temp was between 230 and 250. I have run about a gallon threw it and truck seems fine. I wasnet going to wait till spring to get it running.

I'm sure it is fine! I live in maine, just had my truck out this night ramping snow bankens, so I'm sure it is fine, the only thing most worn is to make everything at least water resistant if your going to drive it in the snow.

Take a peice of paper and cut it to the proper size to wrap around the cooling head. This will ensure the engine will stay warm enough for the break-in process. Breaking in an engine has a lot to do with heat cycling.

It has to be over 200 degrees AND rich, so the sleeve will expand properly and microscopic particles can be flushed out. It must be rich for the first tank, and if ran too cool, goodbye connecting rod. That's why it's good to wrap the head in something and use a temp guage to make sure it warms up. Don't expect it to be a good running engine after 2 or 3 gallons of cold weather running, if it gets that far.

well i got everything together today but i couldnt bring myself to do it i figure i better wait for warm weather errrr lol

i was thinking would it be possible to put the tmaxx on a stand and break it in inside running a hose outside accelerate and stop the same way on the stand wouldnt it be the same thing

Putting it on a stand isn't the same thing as running it on the ground. It needs a slight load on the engine as you start to break in.
Please don't rush it. Breaking it in is the most important thing you have to do to it. Read the following post from a world class racer. It's all about the heat cycling process.
