Hello everyone! I was wondering...
I just bought a tmaxx 3.3 pull start and it looks
like this guy put what ever screws he wanted
in it. Will tmaxx 2.5 hardware fit normal?

Same deal with my Tmaxx I just got. Honestly, I wouldn't be worried unless its mismatched screws on the engine/engine mount or on the tranny. Something real important that would be bad news if it came unscrewed. But I have mismatched screws on some of the suspension and holding down the Rx/rx batt box, etc. On ebay you can find lots of screws from a tmaxx that was taken apart. You should be just fine with screws from a 2.5r, I just wouldn't use any mismatched screws on the engine/mount/tranny though, as I mentioned before.

Just think of the carnage if the engine or engine mount came undone, not worth it. Oh, and loctite! Use it.

For $35 you can buy a 240 pc screw kit. With the best screws around.

In reality a screw is a screw and if it fits and tightens then Thats that!

That's how I feel hotrod. However I am also paranoid so that's why I warn again using different screws for the engine/engine mount, etc.

Not true, your rig is only as strong as the screws that hold it together!

Agreed above. A screw is not just a screw. Cheap stainless screws break off easy and causes other things to break.

Let me refrase my reputtle,I personally don't use stainless screws verry often because they are soft, all I'm saying is if a screw fits and works then it works ,I prefer the carbon steel black screws personally, but as for screws having to match,..the only perpose that serves is visuals,if the thread count is the same and the threaded hole is deep enough then a longer screw could be used,so on and so forth, if you have the 40$ to spend on a screw kit then great for you man,but I don't so I use what I got on hand and never have any problems ,
A good quality screw should always be used on something like motor mounts

Also agreed above^. If the screw fits and you can bash a bit longer then use what you got. Hell i do. But if you do have that $40 to spend on better ones i recommend you do. And yes always use quality bolts and screws on motor and engine mounts where the torque begins.
