Okay so here's the story... Yesterday I bought a tmaxx "2.5" off Craigslist. Now I hadn't inspected the engine or anything and I just took it apart because it had trouble running. To my suprise the engine said TRX15 on the side:whhooo: I'm dissapointed yet hopeful at the same time. Is this motor ANY GOOD? Thanks guys. One more thing, fuel was not flowing through the line into the carb when I used the ez start. The motor goes but nothing comes through. Suggestions?

Yeah it sucks... I'm not sure the engine even has good compression anymore! I'm thinking of just sticking my 3.3 from my jato in their.

i you want an engine with serious power get a picco .26 its a drop in and the truck will fly

If the rig is a stock pro.15 or 2.5 model Tmaxx the .26 will shred the drive train without doing some major upgrades.

Just so you know, the pro.15 Cubic inch engine is 2.5 Cubic centimeters.
The 2.5 is ported/designed very differently to produce more power than the Pro.15
You probably need to thoroughly clean the carb and/or engine if the engine has sat for any period of time.

The engine doesn't even have enough pressure from the piston to take in fuel. I think it needs a new piston/sleeve to get it working again. Hopefully I can do this soon.... I want to bash with my tmaxx!!

Remove the fuel line that goes to the pipe and blow in to it and see if you get fuel to the carb also listen for any air leaks when you do this, if fuel flows then the eng doesn't have enough suction and needs to be replaced if no fuel flows you have a leak or block in the fuel sys, to find the leak remove the fuel line from the carb and plug it with a bolt blow into the fuel line at the top of the tank and see if it holds the pressure

i currently have my old pro .15 on ebay if you are interested in it. it runs has pipe, ez start and puts out some good power for such a small engine I'm looking for about $20 its just sitting and i have no use.

I got it working!! It was really powerful for the tiny engine it has! But... After pushing it too hard, something broke. I checked the engine and the piston did not move. When I opened it there was a lot of metal shards inside where the combustion chamber is:/ I'm guessing this engine is 10+ years old. So now I'm just buying a new one. I like the pro .15 it's got enough power for me:)

Just food for thought. If your going to replace the engine then get or look into an os .18cvrx. It's a direct fit onto the pro .15 chassis and is one of the engines you can drop in there and not have to worry about the drivetrain. I have it in mine and it rips.

Question guys: will the .15 transmission and drivetrain handle the 3.3 engine or will it destroy it?

I put my 3.3 on it and made the throttle linkage myself. I had to drill a hole in the chassis and used a bolt as the support for the linkage. All I need is the exhaust manifold and I'm good to go!

There ia an upgrade package that comes with the manifold and the slide carb linkage. Easy to find it just search 4900 on ebay just narrow it down using the categories

tmaxxman58,
I'm a newbie here looking for some info and came across this thread. I see you posted that you've got a PRO .15 T-Maxx for sale on ebay. I don't want to make this into a swap meet but if you've still got it I'd be interested in it to fix for my son. Do you have a link to it?
