tmaxx .15 upgrade or get a new one?

i have a t-maxx .15...its about 6 yrs old.... having lots of fun with it...
now...the engine became kinda weak....the engine lost some of compression...
now i want to have more power~!...
so i end up with 3 option...

first one...i was thinking to get a new piston and sleeve for my engine
but it ganna cost around 40 bucks plus tax...

second one...i know there is an engine from os can fit rite in without changing other stuff...(O.S. 18CV-RX (S) w/11J Rotary Carb)
that's ganna cost me around 109 and that's it....i heard lots of ppl said it's really power full engine....some ppl even said it's better than trx3.3

third one....get a new tmaxx 3.3....ganna cost me around 400 to 450....

anyone have any good idea for me?
i am trying to save money but also have some fun~
which one u think it's better for me?
the new os engine is only 60bucks more compare to get a new pistion and sleeve for my engine....and also more power
but the new truck looks so good....and the #4908 is even wider and longer....(but same engine as 4909...and has no reverse....)

any suggestion will do...

It depends

If you want more power then get the O.S. 18, (nice engine) If you want the cheapest possible solution then replace the P/S. If the truck is fine then just do that. I wouldn't recommend buying a new truck, you have so many other options. I did notice that you didn't say anything about using the Traxxas engine replacement plan. You can upgrade your .15 to a 2.5 for about $80. If it was me that is what i would do. Get the 2.5R and go to Ebay and get a .15 to 2.5 upgrade kit, this kit will upgrade some weaker parts in your t-maxx to help it last longer.

i didnt say anything about traxxas replacement plan is because 2.5 is smaller than os18...plus i have to get the upgrade kit...that means more stuff to buy.... you think it's better than get an os?
new p/s for my truck is 40bucks...and the new os is about 109.... i can just put more there and get more power...i think it worth the money...rite?... if the p/s just like 20 bucks...then i will get it with no question ask~...=P
and the reason i mention about the new truck is it's bigger and wider...hehehe...better control.....i think~

The reason i mentioned the 2.5 is because i have one and i love it. It never gives me any problems, it screams (40mph) and it gets good gas mileage. Anyway you probably know as well as i do that there is only so much power the t-maxx can handle, Mine tips over in corners as it is.

I recommend that you get the TRX 2.5/R if you want to save money. If you get the TRX 3.3 , OS.18 or anything higher you will need to buy many upgrades such as a new transmission/gearing and CVDs. That will cost even more than the engine itself. With the 2.5R you dont really need to upgrade much at all. I have the TRX 2.5 and it runs great!
