Tmaxx .15 leaking

my tmax 15 is leaking towards the clutch behind the piece of metal that the clutch shoes mount to, i can't see any obvious reason its leaking, I'm just wondering if this means the engine is toast or if this is somehow "normal"?

also there is a small amount of play in the crankshaft, its not up and down, its in and out, its not alot, but enough for me to worry about it. its not currently starting, but has recently started (before i noticed the leak and shaft play), i appreciate any input

my tools were recently stolen, so I'm working w what i have to get it apart, i just have to get the piece the clutch mounts to off and i can post up some pics

Sounds lke the crankshaft is shot. Not sure if there are bearings on the front side.. might be time to replace the entire engine if not.

Just replace the engine buddy it's tired.

Your front bearing needs to be replaced.

Depending on the age of the engine, it already sounds like the repair will
not be worth the time or money.
You will be better off doing an engine exchange with traxxas or picking up
a 2.5 or 3.3 off of ebay or a forum.

I suggest buy new or you could be buying an engine as bad as yours.Engines & radios are two items that are not good to buy used.

I'd replace it with a 2.5r, You will really see that truck wake up, plus you wont have to upgrade alot of the parts as you would have to if you jumped up to the 3.3....

thanks for the input guys, I've been looking to upgrade to a 2.5 fairly soon, just no money to do it right now, so itll probably be the end of summer before i get to go romping again :/ but at least i can say i wrecked the hell out of it to break it, and it didnt just die out one me lol
