I am not into these big trucks YET, still playing with the stadiums but one day I plan on getting one, what is the major diff between the Savage and the TMAX, other than who makes em?

the Savage is a car made to be bashing. the t-maxx is a monster truck made for racing. but the new savage ss or 25 will beat the t-maxx. Dont get me wrong the t-maxx is good
but The SAVAGE is BETTER
So i guess that is the savage and t-maxx in a nut shell.

ps the t-maxx is not really made for bashing

I don't own a savage but I do own a T-Maxx. It has been rock solid since I got it. It once ran full throttle into a curb, did a few somersalts, landed on it's wheels and kept going. I have found it to be quite durable for backyard bashing, and it will also hold its own on the track.:D

the big seller for me was the Savage comes with a .21 motor thats pretty beefy! granted the Tmaxx comes with reverse but i have yet to really need reverse anyway. the savage handles better than my old tmaxx also. they come with steel gears through out with the exception of the spur gear. that was the closer for me. for the same price as the Tmaxx i got the .21 and steel gears.

Maybe I got the one Maxx that came just right out of the box, but I ran my Maxx HARD for a good while before I actually started breaking things. The worst thing I've broken is an A-Arm, and that's because I hit a jump bad and flew into a tree doing AT LEAST 30mph. Also a few fuel tanks, but I suppose that's what happens when you land upside down. Bottom line, it all depends on how you treat your truck. It'll be good to you if you're good to it. As with anything else, If you TRASH IT YOU'LL BREAK IT, the Savage included.

i agree with u guys that the savage out of the box is better than the maxx, but PERSONALLY i think that the savages mill that stock is a piece of poop. there are about 4 of them at my lhs and every time i go there they are always working on the .21bb. but then the 2.5 for the maxx always is overheating for the most part.
BUT i have had my maxx for over 3 1/2 years now, and i have supermaxx suspension, integy piggyback shocks, hardcorebulkheads, xtm .21 conversion, XTM 24.7 engine with a crazy nut head. my maxx will leave a stock savage in the dust anyday.

so i guess it just depends on what u do with them. but for the most part the savage is better right out of the box. but after the maxx is upgraded all hell breaks loose!

but you can also say that for the savage you can upgrade and then again smoke a maxx

in some cases. but for my maxx it aint no problem to out run the savage stock or not. but then again i got a SUPERMAXX.lol

Well, as long as we're talking modified trucks, how about a Savage that's just about all modified? Oh yeah, it looks stock, but that's my evil plan. Modified Outlaw .26, spider diffs, CVD's, some other stuff. wheelies forward and reverse. And best of all, fast as hell and built like a tank.

nice, i do really want a savage to go and bash around, but i aint going to get one until i am done hoppin up my supermaxx. i got the cybermaxx kit to buy yet and the diffs and all that good stuff. but i am getting there.

Sadly, I'm about the only one around here that runs the Savage. There are a few, but they're show trucks, all aluminum and bling. I beat the crap out of mine. If it breaks, it was defective. Yesterday I was at one of the two local tracks and I was trying to get some big air. Well, a few times my truck went cartwheeling off about 10+flips/rolls/couldn't tell, and I heard this "holy crap, that broke something, OMG" from the back field. I just walked over, gave it a boot tap to get it back on the rubber, and punched it WOT into another jump. Tough, that's a Savage.

Working on some sway bars tonight. Yeah....

Whitt...

i run a savage too. i got a jump in my front yard, it gets about 6 feet in the air, goin downhill, has a bad landing, cartwheels i dont know how many times on the cement and i just get down the hill flip it over and run it agian. i love it.but unfortunatley i need the money so I'm sellin it

well I have a Savage.. I was told by my LHS to get a savage cause originally I was going to get a T-MAXX even though there are more T-MAXX out there. Reason being cause just came out last year. They told me it is better out of the box. Both trucks have there pros and cons. One can be made faster than the other and in the end, you'll have fun with both and run over the on-road cars  hahah oh yeah I got my Savage about 5 feet in the air... i put the WASP 26 and put a metal Spur gear.. I think am all good. everything else is still stock
