i need some advice on upgrades for my lst2. i found some titanium arms ($$$)and there are plenty of aluminum arms or should i stick with the plastic stock arms? i want this truck to be indestructable thanks for any thoughts

Just remember with metal parts whether it be Ti or Aluminum, it only transfers what is normally designed to break to another part. I'd wait and see if RPM is going to have arms for the LST2 or if LST arms will fit. RPM is the best!

Thats true.

It's nice to replace something cheap and easy vs something more clostly and a PITA to repair. I use stock plastic arms my self but would do RPM's in a heart beat if I ever wnet aftermarket arms.

Keep your plastic arms. when you go with any time of metal they won't break, but they will bend. Once your arms are bent then your poop out of luck, you'll never get it perfect. YOur better off spending money on broken arms then money on metal arms that will bend.

but with fast lane machine and others i know that if you buy it you can get it replaced for the cost of shipping and imo i think a little extra flashy a-arms never hurt anyone well maybe your carriers

Yeah but that breakage still transfer to some other part that is either not as easy to fix, much more expensive to fix, harder to find, etc. That's the point we're all making when it comes to Al or Ti arms.

I have aluminum lowers on my LST and have the stock uppers. They are great for me. I am going to try out the RPM ones to see what type of abuse they can take.

wow this is awesome

i really dig this info, i never even thought that if i use metal arms it could just damage the next part in line,,, but what if it was all aluminum, would it be too heavy then? if the truck gets too heavy when you crash it could be more weight plowing into the fence? tree? bull? ( i sometimes chase the cattle around the neighbors field):wasted:

LOL Thats cold.

Those cows don't need the excersize....the more weight the more money he gets out of them ;)

Just stick with the stock plastic arms. They can take the abuse, and if they don't, your not out alot of money. The other day I hit the underside of a toyota (won't go there):whhooo: and the front drive axal cup snapped, but the plastic arms..no problem. Keep the stock ones.

well i just can't leave well enough alone,,, i've got all aluminum arms, hubs, bellcrank, chassis braces, shock towers, coming in the mail i hope it's not too much weight as I also have polished radio case & gear cover too. I guess I just like shiny things!:)

I don't think having it all aluminum is ideeal for me but if you like it that is what matters. Expect the ride to be A LOT heavier. I think of the breakage in terms of a book. If you hold the book and bend one corner, all the pages bend right? Well same goes for the Aluminum, only they don't go back to the way they were.

yea, it's pretty, but I'm still trying to figure out how to make it a rocket as well. I'd like to upgrade the mill and maybe change the gearing, but I'm figuring this out as I go. this is my 3rd truck & I want it to be a masterpiece .

You want industructable arms get FlexTekRC those titanium arms can bend have way around and never loose their shape, pricey though!
