I'm building a rustler for my father... Trying to get him in the hobby.... and out of the garage fixing P.O.S. chevy's..... I've got one question: What kind of tires do you guys suggest? He's gonna be a basher, no race winner.... Its going to see mostly street and grass/backyardness and occasionally some sand pit action.. I was looking at the tires off the Jato, and the guy at the LHS suggested that these would be good tires for the application... any suggestions?

The ones you linked are more for street and carpet. I'm not sure they'd do very well on other surfaces. You're going to want something with some bite for grass and dirt.

As far as front/rear, the only difference is actually the wheels. The tires are the same. The front wheels are designed to simply slide over the axles and freewheel. The rear wheels are indexed for the driveshafts so they can be powered. The tires are the same size. As a matter of fact, the tires themselves can be used on both the front or rear as long as you use the right wheels.

If you are doing onroad racing or bashing type thing then yeah those will probably do. I would adjust your camber if you haven't already for on road stuff.
