I donno if this goes in the body shop forum or not.

I broke a wheel on my Maximum ST. They are cheap plastic junk. I was curious if I could use some good tires from some other truck. These tires have a hex-nut shape modled in the center of the tire where it mounts to the car (i think it's 1/2" or 13mm hex shape if memory serves me). Can I put any standard tire on my car or is there some duratrax ploy to get me to buy more junky yellow tires?

I also broke a tie rod. I was beating the stuffing out of it. :D

I still can't tune a carb to save my life though.....

You can use any kind of rim that has the same size hex.My bro has that same truck. He has like 4-5 sets of rims and tires..The yellow ones are UGLY.Ya so if the have the same size hex then you can use them.

you can put any size 2.2 rim on it. I still have my origonal tires.. i use them when i feel like burnouts but i also have mashers and roadrage tires. The rims you can use are basicly all proline rims there are tat are 2.2.
:lurk:

I dont think you can use Losi rims without a little modding. The Losi rims are slotted slightly different.

Same with the RC10 Rims. :) Others will work. As you LHS dealer what rims you can get, then decide.

Novice, I'm glad to see you finally decided to tear something up. Welcome to the aftermarket upgrades time. :)

Do they make aftermarket parts for duratrax anyways? ...

:)

CHeck out pro-line. They make good tires! I reccomend the bow-ties. KIK ASS TIRES! They have 2.2" rims too i believe. Sorry but I dont recall the website!:opps:

I ended up putting my son's tires off his thuhnderhawk on it....

then I burnt up the Torq 16 engine 8-0

I have no clue why. the hsn was 2 full turns out. I took it apart and the piston had siezed in the sleave then the rod broke of course. I think maybe breaking it in the cold was a BAD idea. oh well

It happens man. It happens. REMEMBER. It's always a good idea to take a broken part into an upgrade. :) Stick a nice motor in there and get some SWEET power. And as for rims?

RPM DOES make a set of 2.2 rims for duratrax. I don't recall the part number, but our LHS has them. Also, I recommend the proline spiked tires myself. Excellent traction machines.
