are you running nitro or electric? what is the surface of the track like?

TRC Foams.

42 shore all the way around. 26mm all the way around. this would be the best if u are on a budget.

depends on the surface. if its sealed. half a gallon. if it isnt, 5-7 tanks.

I race foams on our local asphalt track. 26mm fronts and 28mm rears. Basic rubber for parking lot bashing.

what does the "shore" mean???

the shore rating is how dense the foam is. A softer shore rating will wear much faster. The softer ratings will provide better traction in some instances, but most all racers will stick with the 37 - 42 shore area.

thank you very much for all you help I'm just trying to find the best basic setup for my ride I'm planning on attending my first race in january and i want to make sure I'm ready.

if this is your first race, here are some sugestions:

Use 40 shore and 26mm all the way around. good hard tire, with plenty of traction. Having all tires the same also allows you to swap around in case of a problem.

Use only dish type wheels, no spokes. These are much less liable to crack or break, since u will probably hit the boards alot.

thanks for the boost of confidence...lol....i will be pracing you know...anyway thanks man...ne other suggestions??I'm planning on buying an airtronic mx3 radio ya or nay?? and a os 12 cvr...

the mx3 is a good radio, but for the same price you can now get the Hitec Lynx 3D FM. Myself, Skmaxx, and Nitromaniac all have this radio and love it. The CVR is a great engine, easy to tune, plenty of power, and side exhaust, so u wont have to get a new pipe and header.

when getting the CVR - make sure u get the SLIDE CARB and SHORT CRANK. If you can't find the slide carb with the short crank, get the std threaded crankshaft, and just cut it.

ill check it out...see if my lhs has one if not ill look online and see whats going on...once again thank you very much for all the help..
