hey guys, I could use a little help. I've read through a buch of the threads, and I know this has been answered a bunch of times, but I need to ask it myself to get it straight.

I was running today and I have been having a tough time keeping my maxx running at idle. I have plenty of punch off the line (i actually flipped it backwards froma standstill once), and I can run and run as long as I keep giving it gas. If I let it set for more than 7 or 8 seconds at a standstill it cuts out. Today I tried to get back to factory settings to start over, but I still have the same problem. I am also running a max temp of about 237 which i know is way too hot.

Also, my fun ended today when I flipped pretty hard and my throttle servo stopped responding. It looks like my failsafe kicked in, but the batteries aren't low, and the steering is still really responsive. I know you guys must get tired of answering the same fng questions, but I am not looking for amazing performace, I just want to be able to bash around and keep it running reliable.

A few reference points for you.
temp today about 43
i have the acncm giant head
20% nitro fuel
idle seems to be correct gap, and if i mess with it, it rev's up and I can't shift into reverse.

I really appreciate the help guys.

First of all 237 is not too hot. If your truck is running the way you want it,dont worry about the head temp until you get to about 290 or higher. Usually when your engine is running too hot, it will act up and start running like ass. As for your idle try to move your idle up a very small amount, like a 1/16 of a turn and drive it for a about a half a tank and then see if it stalls. The gap is just a refence point for your idle. Adjust your idle by how it sounds not the gap. I know your reverse comes into play with your idle but you need to adjust ever so slightly and run it while.

Scott.

To add to what scott was saying when i turn my needled i think of it as right=tight=Leaning it and left=Loose=Richining it, also move them in small incraments like scott said. Iv heard great tings about that head so you have that part right and 235 is the perfect temp and i mean perfect i wish i could have gotten my maxx to run at that temp when i owned it. Good luck
