i was wondering what the easiest and best way to take my tires off my rims and reglue them. since i got it running the best it has ever run it has spun a couple tires on the rims. thanks ideas will be great as i have none.

if you can get to the bead of the tire you won't have to take them off of the rim. . .just clean the area real good and re glue them

hey rob, upon further inspection as we speak i found afew torn spots on the other two tires as well. i do have another set of decent rubbers i just dont know how to get them off the old broken rims without ripping the bead. is there a way to remove the rubber without ripping the bead?

well how dead set are you on keeping the finish on the wheels????
but to keep the decent tires you could boil the old wheels for a little while and it will loosen up the glue and then you can CAREFULLY pull the tire from the rim emphasis on CAREFULLY!!!!

they are stock so most of it is already gone so i guess it doesn't matter if they are real ugly i will get new rims eventually but i really want to play with. and oh by the way how many points for a kid on a skateboard got him good tonight!!! lol

can you still use old rims after boiling?

kid on a skateboard 150 if you made him cry 175 lol

yeah you can still use them just make sure you let them cool down for a little while before you try mounting the tires to them as they will be very warm to the touch

cool i will try that. no he didnt cry but he did wince in pain and cuss me out a little. oh well he shouldnt have said i couldnt knock him off his board. lol i showed him even though it cost me a front bumper and some tire work. lol:D

yeah i did it to get the stock talon tires off of my rims but after i looked at the proline mashers i just had to have them but the tires are still in good shape and if i ever need them i have them. . .but as far as the kid on the skateboard thing. . .ill give you 165pts for the wince in pain thing. ..haha. . .was it worth it breaking ur bumper?:???

oh yes it was. i have two new bumpers sitting on my bench. he is a punk kid anyway. and it was really funny to see his face right before and while he was taking the 6 layers of skin off his palms. hehehe. i will let u know tomorrow how the tire thing works out thanks for all your help.oh and by the way the header mod made a huge difference thanks again

any time man, any time. . .and as soon as i get my motor mount i'll let you know how it runs. . .and congrats on the 6 layers of skin. . .i would have pushed for like, i dunno, 10 or so but hey 6 is respectable. . .hahaha

lol hey are u anywhere near reading my company may have a 7 week job there if its close i can probably get on that job.

I just baked off a tire from a rim. Worked pretty well. 350 F for 10 minutes. Saved the foams.
Good job with the skater....i have crack heads to chase.

Be careful with them rock heads. They may try and take a dive at your rig, absorb the blow(ha), and run off with it!

Haha, you're right. Maybe when someone asks 'how much does it cost' (first and only thing I am asked) to the person who absorbed the blow, the response will be something around '4 broken ribs and a ruptured spleen'.

or they may try to inhale the smoke for a quick high. .. lol

I can see it happening. Gimping away with my rig to suck down the rest of my exhaust.

broken ribs and a ruptured spleen. . .all i can say is OUCH. .. ppl ask me all the time "wow, how much was that". . .all i say is "nunya"

update on the tires- out of 8 rims and tires, salvaged 4. baking actually worked really well.4 tires were ripped at the bead. so it looks like eventually i am going to get new set of tires and rims. any ideas on tire/rim combos? i run on some pavement but mostly medium packed dirt.it is a 5309 revo. thanks.
