I'm just curious what ya guys tip the mailman, garbage man (If anything) for Christmas? Last year our mailman was a big drunk and sometimes didnt even deliver mail for a day, (I found him passed out in his car at the end of my road more than once from booze), so we didnt give that lazy bitch anything. But now we have a new guy and hes really cool. When I get packages, he'll even put them in my truck or knock on the door and give me it, instead of leaving it at the box. So I figured Id ask what ya guys do.

couple lottery tix, or my mom used to make homemade bread loafs for people like that. like chocolate chip banana bread, or apple, or pumpkin, etc.

Thats what I was pannign on as well. I am preety friendly with the USPS and UPS guys, I see em both quite a bit. i figured we would just bake some stuff and hand it out...

Don’t really give them anything but a thank you and happy holidays, i dont really have enough money to spend on my self (college student) , I know the ups guy very well. but the usps guy that delivers to me is a peace of junk, sometimes when I get a international package, and I'm not home, he is suppose to leave a slip saying to go pick it up or wait for them to redeliver, but for god sake, he never leaves a slip or any poop and the package gets shipped back, it happened 4 times already. I seriously hate it; sometimes he doesn’t even bring the package to me when I am home (available) one time I saw him hold the package, in his hand, he just looked at my place and walked away, even though my bike was outside the door, and the window was open and people where talking (friends).some times I just get the final notice slip saying that the package will be shipped back to its sender with in the next 20 days or so, even though I never got the first two warnings for me to go pick up the mail, We should be getting a new mail man by the new years as I have been tolled.

20 bucks for the mail guy...my garbage men don't even speak the same language as the other guys on the same truck so I can't even talk to them...one is haitian, one mexican and one braziliian.....they can't even talk to each other very well let alone throw some english in there.....so I don't even bother with them......

Call me Scrooge but I don't give em poop. As my bosses (thier billionaires BTW) say, your doing your job, besides that, they are jewish so there's really no mention of x-mas around here. Working for them has kinda made me a little callous!

I don't really remeber ever tipin the garbage man,the guy's a moron,i don't tip the mail man because during christmas it's usually my sister and she doesn't like my tips.

Thats a good idea. I think Ill give em lottery tickets. My luck though, them would finally be my big winning tickets, and I just give em away..lol

The one nice thing about the UPS driver that usually delivers to me is, he's a fellow RC'er. I can easily just address somethin for him from Tower, and problem solved.

My USPS guy, on the other hand... I usually give him a soda whenever I have the time. He gets thanks all the year around.

Since we have such crazy taxes around here and the garbage collection is run by the city (taxes) I don't tip those guys. Same with the USPS as that is what our federally subsidized system is supposed to do.

We do tip our gardener and housecleaner. I actually slip the gardener a lot of extra money throughout the year because he does a better job on my house than my cheapo neighbor, plus if I have a specail request he will do it for me, like pulling out dead bushes or trimming the trees (not part of his job).

when we first moved and had alot of stuff to throw out my aunt gave the garbage man 20 bucks as a tip.

are you kidding me? What the hell do they need a tip for? They get paid for the job they do just like anybody else. The don't work for tips. Servers work for tips, not mailmen. Maybe I should ask my boss for a tip because I show up. "Happy Holidays and have a nice day" that's all they get from me.
