Personal crap has kept me stressed out lately so to relieve a little I beat the crap out of my Savage. So it's time now to rebuild it back to good health. The damage list :

Broken engine plate
Stripped spur
Broken front diff housing
Broken bulkheads
Broken carb base
Broken front bumper braces
Bent/missing hinge pins
Totally destroyed body
Bent roll bar

To get it back in shape I'm replacing the broken stuff plus I 've got a new steering servo, pipe and tires and wheels. Here's some damage pics. Will post new pics after it's restored.

Everyone have a good week!

:gulp: OMG !!! What the hell happened there?? You really were STRESSED!!!:gulp:

that's one of those sessions where someone says "dude, you even bent your transmitter antenna!"

Stressed really doesn't quite descibe what I was feeling at the time.

The damage is from 100ft full throttle runs at my son's bmx bike ramp. A good jump was 8-10ft in the air and 35-40 ft long. The roll bar damage was from the throttle sticking and unintentionally trying a back flip. The bulkheads, diff housing and bumper broke from coming off the ramp at an angle and hitting the concrete tree rings my wife has around the base of the trees. The rest from other various bad landings.

Never thought I would be that mean to my poor truck!

Well, they say we only really hurt the ones we love. Dude, thats some serious love. Good luck with the repairs.

Just thought I would give you all an update on my rebuild.

First off, during disassembly and clean up I found still more damage! It appears that it took a hard hit to the left side TVP, shown in picture below, and then when I pulled the engine the clutch bell fell off on the bench with the bearings in pieces.

As for the rebuild, well it's going a little slow due to lack of time, but some progress has been made. The front half is complete with the first upgrade installed, a new JR steering servo. Also moved the old servo to work the throttle/brake. I have some of the masking done on the new body but no paint yet. That's it for now, I'll update again as I get more done.

If you blew out the clutch bearing in an impact, man..... That had to have been a DOOSY! I'm impressed, to say the very least.

Well it's been a long, crappy summer here. The personal crap that led to the damage in the first place still isn't sorted out and I haven't had much time to work on the rebuild much less actually get to run the truck!

Never the less, some work has been done so I figure an update is in order. The first picture below shows the progress on the engine/chassis. A few mods and upgrades can be seen. They include the Hardcore Racing titanium roll bar, a Robinson Racing vented flywheel, HPI's "chubby head", a 52 tooth spur gear and a Fantom Works steel tuned pipe.

The second picture shows a peek at the new body. Just a mask and rattle can paint job, but I like it.

That's it for now, hope everyone had a better summer than I did. The next update should be the completed rebuild.

Until then....... Randy

Rebuild is DONE!!!! :celebrate:

Hi again everyone, my Savage is finally back to being a complete, ready to race truck! Here's a few pics, let me know what you think.

The downside is I can't run it, too busy looking for a new house and trying to sell the the old one, so for now it's a shelf queen. Bummer :depress:

Somebody burn some nitro for me....
Randy
