I just bought my first gas powered rc car. It's the Traxxas nitro sport. I bought a used one being it's my first gas power. It has the easy start . When i put power to the electric motor all it does is click. It wont turn the engine. I took the easy start off and was able to turn it by hand but it's really tight. Any help to fix this would really be appreciated.

Have you opend it up yet to make sure the engine was ok??? last time I heard that noise I had a broken conrod in the engine.. hopefully that isnt the case!!! does both of your lights light up on your wand??? another possible is a bad wand or a bad starter motor.. hope this helps at all...

I took the starter engine off and checked it and it runs fine. Both lights on the wand come on. The motor is just to tight for the starter engine to turn it. It hadn't been run it a while. Maybe I need to take the motor and carb off and give them a good cleaning.

Yeah disconnect the exhausts line to the tank and try turning it over and let it just burn the fuel thats in it already then when it starts just connect it again.

If it doesn't start and stays locked up i would take out that glow plug and try turning it over with the glow plug off and see how much fuel is is there or if its just really gummed up.

Thanks for the replies help. While waiting for reply I took the motor off and it was gummed up in the bottom were the shaft is. WD 40 free it right up. Hopefully it'll run now

You would be amazed at how much crud will build up from letting old fuel evaporate and leave all of the oil residues everywhere your fuel was before you let it sit. Taking apart the entire fuel system (including the motor) is probably your best option at this point. Good luck!
