I've had a Thunder Tighr MTA-4 for a couple of years now and would like to give it a bit of a revamp.

What, if any, are the recommended upgrades??? I would like it to go much faster if possible

I'm not the most technically minded person in the world, so would there be somewhere that would give full instructions for any modifications i could make

Thanks

Since the Thunder Tiger MTA-4 is basically a Team Associated MGT, I have moved this to the MGT forum.

Easy upgrade... Get a better motor. LRP 28 Spec 3. and go side pipe like a JP-2. Try that first and you will see a jump in power. Also get better suspension the poor suspension on the MGT( MTA-4) takes away power when it squats too much under power. Other mods, use siicone fluid to tune the diffs if you haven't already rather than diff grease.

What have you done to your ride??

LRP would be awesome. But make sure its the spec 3 BUGGY engine. 3.81hp
If you go to the Team Associated site http://www.teamassociated.com/ they will recommend that motor for the MGT 8.0 But they tell you NOT to use the spec 3 TRUGGY. I dont know why. You could also use the .50 out of the MGT 8.0 or the Thunder Tiger S50 Sledgehammer. As RobMob said they are the same truck.

Ref lrp upgrade for mgt4.6 s.e.

I have made the LRP z.28r spec.3 up grade to my MGT 4.6 also add some other mods , roll cage, springs, etc. It runs around 55 to 65mph( est.).I'll try to attach some picks.

I have the lrp tuned around 245 deg f. (the sheet that came with the engine said the perfect temp rand was between 230-260 f) and that temp is consistent with 3 to 4 passes at about 200 to 300 m stretch. Now with normal monster truck running where you just pop wheelies and short track runs w/jumps the temp stays around 180-210. It pops wheels fairly easy and can get out off control quickly if you don't watch it. Glad i have my roll-cage !
