Hey guys I'm almost done with building my new engine i dont know which way to install the thrust bearings do ballbearings that are between both rings face the engine or should they go away from the engine thanks in advance.

What thrust are you talking about? You're not talking about the seal in the bearing are you? Most ball bearings are available with or without seals. On a nitro engine I use a bearing without seals on the innermost bearing (the one you install on the crank first) and on the outer bearing I use a sealed bearing but only use the seal on the outside. If you can get a bearing with the seal installed only on one side that's ideal but I usually just buy one with both seals and remove the inner seal with a pick. The seal does little to keep the fuel in usually but is more important to keep dirt out of the engine.

Thrust bearing on a Centax clutch is what you're asking, correct? On a Serpent 710, there are 2 rings with different diameter rings that sandwich the bearing. The larger diameter ring goes first, then the bearing, then the smaller diameter. Don't forget to grease the bearings.

Which car are you placing the engine in?
