I'm new to this so bear with me... i think I've got my tune close but when i hit the brake it dies... raising the idle dosent help... if i turn the trim up it will work but wont sit still at idle. Is it a clutch problem or linkage problem or is my tune just all @#$%&d up I'm starting to wish I would have bought electric:angry:

With the Radio and receiver 'ON', turn the trim knob ALL the way down, remove the air cleaner so you can see the carb opening, hold the radio trigger in full brake position and adjust the idle screw till you see an opening of 2-3 mm or about 1/15".
ALWAYS set your idle this way, and only use the trim knob to help start it, or warm it up.

great advise the shaft in the carb has a small radius to it. I measure from the deepest part right?

that fixed it... the idle was too low... thanks for the advise rolex!!

i thought Man! thats a very precise number it must be real picky! i did try to make it a tad over 1/16! lol... at proper idle it wont hold itself without the brake on and the clutch is set correctly... if i loosen it just a tad it slips. Have I messed the clutch up? sorry to switch topic on ya but its obvious you know what your talking about

The 1/16 is an approximation of where it will start. They need to be tweaked from there. If it's trying to walk on you at idle, you'll need to lower it some more.
Try going down from 1/16th to 1/15th. :hehe:

Tighten the slipper back up.

real funny:p:but the clutch seems all or nothing..... is it possible that I've meesed it up with my "dont know what I'm doing tuning''? could i have warped the pressure plate? it just dosent work like it did when i bought it... I'm stumped! sorry for sounding so ignorant

thats where it is but it still pulls through no matter what rpm thats why I'm stumped!
