I was out bashing around today since I had everything tuned real nice.. and all was going well when I noticed that the response from the throttle servo was a little sluggish, like a 1 or 2 second delay. (stock 2055) Shortly after I noticed that it stopped working in the direction to open the carb, and would apply brake.. and not return. I have not torn this thing apart for anything at all yet.. so I'm thinking that I nuked the servo. The steering and forward/reverse work fine, so I'm positive it's just the servo and not a radio issue. Has anyone else had this happen to them with a stock servo? I might have had 20-30 good bashing days with this thing.. I just imagine It could have lasted longer. Maybe not, it is the first servo I've killed and never had this happen with my tmaxx. Would it be wise to get something beside a traxxas servo?

i had the exact same happen to me not to long ago...changed the servo and everything is back to normal ;)...( i used a spare steering servo i had ) ...any servo strong and fast enough will work ;)

i had some of the 2018 traxxas trottle servos ..they were not strong enough to open my carb all the way ..youll need the same strength as the one you have or stronger

I always got a high torque metal geared servo for steering, then used the stock steering servo for the throttle/brake. Throw the extra servo in your tool box for a field spare.

I used a pair of HiTec HS-5645 servos for the steering and used one of the original steering servos for the throttle.

Hmm.. I sort of want to keep the stock twin servo setup until it dies, then have the excuse to convert to s single servo setup and buy a good servo for that. I think I do have a couple for spares lying around somewhere.. I may try them out and see what they do. If all else fails I will try flipping them around

I found a 2018 laying around, I put it in but it seems sluggish. Can anyone tell me where I could find torque ratings on servos?

Just look up the brand and # of the servo and you'll find it on any site that makes or sells them.

Ok, thanks. I looked at what traxxas offered and according to them the 2055 is their highest torque servo.. looks like I might just buy a different brand. I was looking at the hitec website, I'm not sure if they are analog or digital.. does that make a difference?

2055 has 86 oz in torque.....2070 or 2075 have 125 oz ( steering servo )..thats what i use as a throttle servo the 2070 ..does the job .....digital are more precise ..but they use more power ....analog will work to

i get them off ebay ..just have to looks for the good deals ..and be a smart bidder ;)

Ok, I gotcha. I don't know a lot on the servo stuff.. that shows obviously. :hehe: I think I will give the 2070 a shot. As always, I appreciate the help. This forum is awesome :first_place:
