Ok today I was just doing some fine tuning for the 33% fuel and got it bout perfect so killed the engine to top off tank. Sat down long enough to have another beer and when I started the revo up again it went wide open for no reason. I changed the batteries in my controller and tried again. Same thing happened. When I turn off the controller it stopped the WOT but when turned on the controller again it just seemed fine. All the sudden it started short burst of WOT by itself. So I bypassed the optidrive box all together and wired straight to the reciever and the servo still goes crazy!! WTF ? Is my servo bad or what? I even changed the crystals out in the reciever and controller and that's not it either. Somebody help me out here and tell me if I'm right by thinking I just need to replace my throttle/brake servo out.

I've had a bad servo do pretty much the same thing .....changed it and all was fine ...do you have 2 steering servo ?? if so , you can use one of them as a throttle servo

No the two steerings have been stripped and replaced with a single futuba heavy duty. I was just gonna get a new 2075 and drop in if that's the case. Unless someone has a better recommendation for a throttle servo. Always open to suggestion.

Right now i do have a hitec HS-5955TG servo on my tmaxx that has no engine. I looked it up online and see that it it a high torque titanium geared expensive azz servo that was discontinued and replaced with a HS-7955TG with similar specs. will this be ok to use as the revo throttle/brake servo? seems like it would be a better quality than the original so dont see why not.

it will work for sure ...only problem is i dont think your throttle return spring will be strong enough to move it in case of power failure ....but as a temporary fix its fine

The 2075 is a step up from the factory throttle servo, I'm using that ATM for mine and it's fine.

Yeah I didn't think about the spring not being strong enough. But I will just make damn sure while I'm using it to keep my batteries in the controller and the pack on the car freshly charged. Plus isn't that what the opti drive is for? A failsafe Incase of power loss causing the car to stop? Or what exactly is the optidrive?

I will just go back with the 2055 stocks. I found a set of 2 for $19.99 free shipping on eBay and the one on the tmaxx needs replacing too. So that will give me a new one for both trucks.

the optidrive will act as a failsafe for low power .....but if you lose power completely (broken wire or loose battery ) then the spring is the only thing that will work

the 2055 will work ...they do come stock after all ..lol...but i prefer the 2075...give more braking power and is a bit faster to ;)

I think my opti drive is bad as well. I hooked up the hitec and get nothing but a red light on the opti drive and no response. So I just bypassed it and all is fine now. Plus that hired servo is a lot stronger and faster. May just leave it and get a couple of 2075's for the tmaxx. Fixen to go play with the revo a tank or so now and see if I can't finish getting it fine tuned from where I left off yesterday when my servo started freaking out.

Ditch the opti-drive if you have no reverse. I have an OFNA mico fail safe, about $20, with my Hitec servos and it works perfect. I once tested the low voltage theory before I installed the OFNA and lost control at WOT while my REVO tried it’s hardest to take out a tree.

Lol, iv been lucky, the one or two times my revo went wot fOr about 2-3 sec I had it
Turning so it just sat there doing donuts. So after that it's home time, I think I'll buy a fail safe tho with my new motor

I do have reverse so I guess I better invest in a replacement for the optidrive so I can keep it. I use it a lot while I'm bashing in my yard. Too many damn trees and fences and bushes and everything else like parked cars boat trailers so on and so fourth.

Not sure on your issue since I am a new be. Mine went out 2 wks ago & droped in a 2075, better responce on trottle & braking.

Yes I tried several times but only a solid red light when all is hooked up correctly. It only gives me good lights when I hook it up wrong for some stupid reason. But every time I plug the blue plug from the tranny into the spot it goes into on the box the light goes red. Plug the dang throttle servo into that spot and get green and blue lights. Dunno what the hell is going on with it unless the part inside the tranny is what's bad and giving me the red light.

Yeah I have a hell of a lot more throttle response and too much braking now. Had to back the brake off a ton because first wot pass I made today and hit the brake I swear the car did a complete front flip back onto all fours. And when I hit them lightly in a turn it went into a cartwheel!! Now it wheelies off full throttle stops as well. Now that's some hellacious response difference from stock!!!!:D

A mate had the exact thing you're describing happen - he'd bumped the switch on the controller that reverses the throttle control, so instead of the brakes being on the throttle was wide open as soon as he turned the controller on.

Big oops!!! I forgot like a idiot to raise my antenna today and gassed it. Soon as it got away from the pourch she went wot towards the road! I realized and yanked the antenna up and hit the brake and it did an indo right at the road and fell forward on the roof just as a car went by. Wow! Almost lost my revo. :whhooo:

I agree on that, that some torque on braking. Mine did the same on front flips, the guy @ my LHS warned me about these 2075's when getting off WOT & hitting brakes. AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! :whhooo:

now that we have plenty of braking power, what can we do with tha darn reverse servo? of course reverse gearing will be eliminated but, what can we use these servo for? any input will be welcome.
