I have installed a 3 shoe clutch in my ntc3. Along with it, I also added stiffer clutch springs. Gold team associated clutch springs. What performance gains should I see? I have yet to test it out since it's raining here in NYC till sunday.

I've heard that I should get a stronger hole shot since the stiffer springs will allow the clutch to engage a little higher in the rpm band. I know that the 3 shoe upgrade will allow better grip. I just want to see if anyone wlse has done this to their ntc3 so I can have an idea of what will happen tomorrow when if there is a break in the weather and I can at least sneak in 1 tank.

Never mind, already tried it out. Liked the hookup of the 3 shoe clutch. Liked the stronger hole shot because of the stiffer springs.

I almost wonder what it would be like if you kept the standard springs but left the 3 shoes. For some reason, I'm thinking you would get a smoother, yet more powerful hole shot.

I'm thinking right now you may be a little TOO launched off the line.

Would that be right?

You are correct there. Now that I have been playingwith it for a few hours, it launches real hard. To the point where it gets squirley off the line. At first I thought it was cool since it was reminiscent of my tahoe limited taking off under hard acceleration. Trying to take care of it, I started adjusting the shock settings and spring preload ... I got it calmed down significantly. I had my suspension too stiff, causing bounce and no dampening.

I do get good holeshots and power if I just remember to modulate my triger finger. Things can get out of hand and the back will drift around if not driven smoothly. I may bring it back to the stock springs but I want to give some run time to these clutch springs just to see what will happen with run time and see if I can adjust to the car.
