After checking the search engine out to see if this had been posted before, I am going to let this one fly (I couldn't find mention of the HPI three shoe).

Anyway, I went to the LHS to pick up parts for repairs and upgrades. One of which was to be a three shoe clutch set up. I asked for the parts I would need. The price was a bit higher than expected. So, I asked for a more cost effective alternative. The dude reaches behind him and grabs a HPI three shoe clutch with shoes. Total cost $16 + tax. That definitely fit the bill.

Apparently the Savage .25 RTR comes with this thing. It saved me about $50 bucks which allowed me to buy some other upgrades. Good deal if you ask me.

I also opted to buy the same items. They are still new in the package. I figuered I would run the stock 2 shoe set-up for a while before the install. If you get them installed soon, post a reiview of the before and after differences.

I installed the HPI 3 shoe clutch in my SS which came with the 2 shoe version just this afternoon. Could not go wrong for the price.

Have you run it with the 3 shoe yet? Big difference?

Actually I am currently building the SS so I have never ran it with the 2 shoe. I won't know how much of a difference the 3 shoe will make. For the price, I decided to just put in the 3 shoe instead of putting in the 2 shoe.

You're still building that thing? I thought you'de been done by now.

I'll be sure to post a review of the performance change when I get my truck back together. From what I hear and have read, the three shoe clutch makes things a little crisper in the response time of the engine. I'll let you know what I think.

Took me some time to get all the parts I wanted to put on. The bevel gears for the 4 spider mod were difficult to get. Now that it is built, I have a pile of stock parts I did not use.

Hmm good post sky. I have changed from the 21RTR to the same clutch you mention. I picked them up off of ebay brand new in the package with a new flywheel for $15.00 shipped from Hobbieguyrc. That guy and RC Boyz have great deals. Can't tell you of any honest differences though as I have seemed to lost 1st gear in my tranny.

I picked up the same one from Hobbieguy RC too, your right them and RC boyz have great deals and they don't jack you on the shipping either. I have not put mine in yet, I am still waiting on a few other parts to get here, mp servo saver, gears and cups, maybe one day I will get this thing back up and running again.
