hey jst a quick question about threadlock , how much is threadlock from a hobby shop , wheres the best place to apply it. wat nuts and screws. and is it anygood jst wondering thats all thank nitrofreak

My hobby shop sells threadlock for $3.95 for a little tube(Friggen Ripoff). Its actually a nessesity(If I spelled that right) if you don't want your bolts to vibrate out of the car. Threadlock is applied like glue to screws and bolts that go into metal. There is no need for screws that go into plastic though. My LX Comp's manual actually has a little glue tube that tells where you are supposed to apply threadlock when re-assembling.

spitfire : aww rite how much is $3.95 and how big is the tube of it I'm back in the uk so i need a rough estimate how much is that in british pounds plaese if you know

any of your local hardware stores should have it in the Uk as well. or even auto parts stores. I buy a 12cc pen of it for $4.99. (comes in a thing that looks like a paint pen)

Threadlock,I buy the Tamiya blue threadlock. I pay around $4 canadian for a tube.

Threadlock should be used where you have metal on metal contact screws, apply on the end of the screw and ...screw in. After it sets(cures)it should prevent the crew from...comming loose.

Used where vibration is major,I use it ...

Engine mounts, motor mounting, pinion screw, chassis, tranny and any screw that loosens up. better use good pressure and threadlock than overtighten screws.

Run down to you local hardware or auto store and buy some Loktight blue. You could probaly buy enough to do everyones truck out here for 3.00 - 10.00 bux.

Make sure you get blue Loctite, not red. Red is almost permanent. Blue allows you still to get the screw out again in the future.

Just to add, don't use it on plastic. Loctite and most plastics don't jive and though you may not see the effects immediately, something will most likely happen at a not so good time.

Also Dont use to much. I had have a few screw heads bust off cause I used to much. Also Loctic (I think) sort of weakens the plastic and makes it all soft.
