This is the 2nd time my backplate has come loose, after the 1st time i used Tamiya Thread lock and it still came loose - Doh !!

I was thinking of using the that red bottle lock-tite or would that be to strong of a threadlock??

any suggestions? what do u guys use?

Thx Fellas !! :fro:

I think you want to use blue locktite since it is somewhat easy to remove. I have used green or a medium strength loc tite before and wow do I NOT recommend it at all. Good luck with it.

lol k Thx for the feedback..

did anyone else's come loose more then once?

Red is for high heat and maximum hold, if you don't plan to take off the back plate anytime soon, I'd say go for it, but be fore warned that you may end up stripping the heads of the screws trying to get them back out, but beings it is on the back plate I'd say go for it and when or if you ever decide to re-build the engine you can deal with it then.............I'd say though if you have a good set of wrenches and use slow steady preasure you should be able to break loose the screws with red lock tite.........just have to be patient and take a little more time

use the strongest poop you can ... i had used red loctite before, and it still came loose ... trust me . use the hardcore stuff on that

I'd say try the red, put the stuff on, torque the screws down good & tight, and let it sit over night, I know they say it is good to go in minutes, but whats it going to hurt to let it sit for a few hours and cure before putting any heat and vibration to it?

Blue loctite will work fine if everything is clean, meaning grease and nitro free.
