What up fellas. I brought what I thought was a used T maxx roller the other day for 60 bucks. Turns out what I got was a S-Maxx, the two wheel drive version of the T-Maxx. The guy originally wanted $100 dollars for the thing but I talked down to 60 because I thought the thing was missing the front diff and drive shafts!! Oh well, my bad, I didn't know. Anyway has anyone ever owned this model? How does it drive? Should I upgrade it to 4wd? Like I said in the other thread about this project, this is my first MT and I plan to bash the heck out of this thing.;)

Nitro4910 is correct, the S-Maxx is just a 2wd version of a T-Maxx. It can be easily upgraded to a 4wd version. If it were mine I would make it 4wd for sure.

bear in mind the s maxx also has a single speed box too , I now have 2 s maxx's they don't handle too bad and with a decent suspension they go hard , kinda like a oversized rustler

any suggestions on the suspension? The one I have has the stock shocks on it and they are in bad shape and leaking so I'm gonna replace all 8.

there is a page on the traxxas site that is a good guide for tuning an s maxx to be a decent truck it may be a bit dated but still works ,the only thing I didn't try was running 4 shocks instead of 8 but as yours are cactus you may want to try a 4 shock setup and as the s is a bit lighter than a t it should go good just got to get the power to the ground
