Went out today to tweek my tuning had a little bit of a bog on a deat start. Got the thing perfectly tuned and after a few I noticed that it was not shifting into 3rd gear. Just figured the tank was getting low and might be leaning out a bit. About a mon later she ran out of fuel. Refuelled but could not get it to run properly. It kept staling if I gave it any throttle. Reset everything back to factory thinking something got out of adjustment when it rolled still would not run properly it would just stall or if I did get it rolling it would barly move sounded like it was getting way to much fuel. Gave up since its way to cold to be messing around with it. Figure something came loose gonna pull the engine and seal it all up hopefully its just a air leak. Pulled everything apart found the exhaust gasket toast was falling apart in little pc's, pretty sure i may have had a carb leak as well as the carb was pretty wet with fuel but broke the carb gasket when i went to seal it so I'm out of luck for another week or so. This is on my savage xl

ya hoping nothing more breaks on this thing... bought used supposibly good condition, new getting back into the sport did not check as good as i should have, 3 bent shocks in front, 1 broken upper arm front, 2 lowers already replaced, replaced front gears toast, and now the engine issue. hopefully its just a air leak always been hard to start the first time i though it was just me priming it wrong... not to mention the roll bar, glow plug ignitor, new radio, i bought for it..hehe

Yea, looking at replacement parts, it seems to be a cheap hobby....$5 here $10 there, then you checkout and see the true cost. lol

now that i have been sitting here i think i may have had a oh oh moment. with the temp down to -2 when i refuelled i may not have pressed the gas cap down all the way and may have had a huge air leak....

Heck at this point I would just love running. Hehe

Worst part is it will be a few weeks before i see parts... Local shop has nothing and just to order a couple of gaskets the shipping will cost more so I'm gonna throw a new piston and sleeve in the order to make it worth wile

4 re sizes at 25 each plus shipping, he can buy a new engine for what 4 resizes cost, that just seems to me to be a band-aide on needing a new engine.

Hi,
When I first looked at thee Shop Vac pic, I thought it was the new ShopVac Rocket model. Hahaha, that thing is so aerodynamic.
Looks like it could go at-least five thousand feet up on a single charge.
Before the dust bag parachute deployed and emptied itself. Coasting gently back to earth with a clean and ready receptacle.

Chas

Still wondering about the resize?

It's actually not the piston or sleeve I'm waiting for. They were instock. They had no exhaust or carb base gasket. Figures the cheep stuff is keeping me from running. Just ordered the piston set to have it for when I do need

I have used cardboard from a cereal box before just to run mine (field fix) it actually done well, its just tedious cutting them out.

I was just thinking of using silicon and calling it good. Hehe
